Actually the XXL gives a clue as the cost should be expressed in Roman numerals.

I think it will be over ...£MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMXXLIV

;)

VW have already indicated the entry price, I'm sure

My guess is £64,995.

That maybe for the California XXL BEACH though.

Did I see that it’s now called The California Grand?

That's just the Sun's guess..

I haven't seen any official VW confirmation yet.

It's not officially launched until 24th August, hopefully we will see prices then.

I doubt it will be plus vat, hefty enough though at 75k.

that's why I think it will be 75 large plus vat. making it 90 large on the road. just my guess though so don't shout at me as I'm still sober at 2100 hrs

I don't see the point of these posts, they add no value to the thread, the Grand will be aimed at a totally different user, that is why Volkswagen has bought it out.
I agree, the concept is aimed at the higher end campervans in the 3.5 tonne range. would suspect that a 4 berth, 4 motion with all the knobs, bells & whistles could be well over £80k.

I don't see VW being able to compete in a highly competitive market 6-7m fixed bed camper market dominated by Fiat/Citroen/Renault based vans. Most ferry measurements in Europe are based around these vans. These vans are made in huge numbers all from the one factory in Italy. They use the legendary Fiat Ducato engines where VW's unreliable and under-powered engines are just no substitute. The California still has so many production problems 14 years after VW took it over from Westfalia, whose T4 was ultra-reliable. VW will want to introduce more unnecessary complications like the T5/T6 electric/hydraulic roof in place of Westfalia's T4 California's quick and simple spring loaded roof which never failed and took a fraction of the time. Roof problems, engine problems, fridge problems....the list is endless for VWs innovations.

true. I don't like this touch screen shite to operate the lights and stuff. what's up with a switch? what happens if the computer fails and you can't even turn a light on? even so. it will sell. it still looks amazing and it has the name.
