VW Roadside Assistance

Useful to know. I've only needed to call VW assist once and I wasn't offered a VW technician. In the end some local technician turned-up, it wasn't even an AA badged van.
I think you need to “request” (as I do)

Cheapest road side assist option for me: Have car help in travel assurance and do maintenance at official VW dealer. In the Netherlands you get free roadside assistance assist when maintenance at official VW dealer.

My VW Roadside assistance renewal letter came through.
Last year was £120 incl Euro cover, this year £190 and I made no claims.
I phoned and they would not offer any discounts - so won't renew.

On MoneySupermarket I could get Green Flag yearly eurocover for £56 with just £40 excess per call.
Any experiences of Green Flag euro assistance (and UK) ?

lowest quote is £37 for Dynamo (£25 excess) but I never heard of them.

Thank you very helpful, I know what you mean with international codes, I can never remember if you need to drop the 0 when using the +44 code
You always do. 0044 or +44 then drop zero

Been with them so long, so I just know. If you give them a call, quote your reg, they will put your mind at rest. They’ve always been very helpful and polite to me. 0800 777172.
If you’re abroad and you breakdown there’s a couple of different numbers to use I’ve got these two stored in my phone (00800 1330 3939 and 0033 (0) 472171258). Although I do get confused with the international 00, 44 etc. In reality if I got stuck I’d try all variations AND then probably the UK number too!
Thank you so much for this information found in a search today. I just called them and gave them the van registration and our roadside assistance is for 5 years from first registration (March 2024). That's a real result.
They informed me that the European phone number is 0330 0530 935 and no +44 or international codes required.
