Where to buy: Leisure battery charger

I was impressed by the look of the Fraron unit so I've bought one for mine before the OEM charger gives up the ghost. I was impressed with the dual output so I can do away with the extra charger Ive got fitted for the started battery. I was wondering if I should make a little access window on the side to view the status lights perhaps. Watch this space

Hi, Looks a impressive bit of kit. What’s the wiring going to be like switching it for the original unit?
My original charger gave up so was looking at different options.
Thanks

It comes with two pre crimped pairs which will have to be connected to the existing battery plus the correct plug for the westy control panel. Just a new battery temperature sensor to the battery negative and that's it. Not fitted mine yet though as it only arrived as I was leaving for two weeks so I'll let you know when it fully fitted

Excellent! Just had a look where the charger is sited under fridge and mine is totally missing.
Just the kettle plug and a bank plug sat in its place.
This replacement charger is definitely on my list to get in the New Year.
Thanks

Finally got around to fitting my new charger. Works and fits a treat. Just got it wired to the leisure battery for now. Still to run a new feed to the starter battery to tie in with my excess solar charge unit

Well after taking the charging unit out of the van and opening it up it was pretty obvious what the first thing to sort was. One of the capacitors (yellow rectangular one near the smaller pcb connector) had exploded and covered part of the pcb in a tar like substance. I desoldered what was left of it and cleaned the pcb up as best as i could.
I replaced the capacitor and the fuse next to it that it had took out and hoped there wasn't any more damage.
Turned out there was - the track on the pcb which runs from one leg of the capacitor to the mains filter was open circuit, even though it looked ok, so I put a link in on the under side of the pcb to rectify this.
I also found several dry joints on the smaller mains input pcb, which would simply have been caused by age (25 years old!) so I re-soldered these.
Popped it back in the van and jobs a good'un - everything charging as it should and the control panel working as it should.
Hi Dubster - I'm hoping you are still a member, cos I've got a very similar situation. 2 capacitors, 0.1uF and 0.68uF (and a third looks a bit stressed) have split and let black gunk ooze over the PCB. The supply seems to be working OK, so maybe these are purely for RF suppression and I'm just being anti-social! I rarely use official sites so most use for the charger is at home when I keep the leisure battery topped up. Where did you source the replacements? And are they Polyester Film? I can't identify anything exactly like them in RS, Farnell, Maplin et al. Alas there's nothing like the German Conrad store near here.
I think I caused the damage one night when the leisure battery was low and I charged it up while also running the fridge - smell of hot transformers/wiring next morning.
Oh - if you happens to have a source for a circuit diagram that would help. It's been 30 years since I did any serious problem tracing and repair on analogue electronics.
