Hi all,

Arranging a forum meet in the Yorkshire Dales for the weekend of 15th June which is the closet weekend to the longest day next year, and avoids all other known planned forum meets.

Venue is Masons Campsite which is in Appletreewick village in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales some 8 miles north of Skipton, which is in itself some 25 miles north west of Leeds.

Their website address http://www.masonscampsite.co.uk/index.html which has all the details and rates.

It is a minimum of 2 nights and they can accommodate up to 30 Vans for all of us to park together on their Riverside field on a ‘self pitch’ basis, ie park where you want, for those not needing electric, together with an additional 15 marked pitches with electric on the main field.

Dogs welcome.

If you have friends who are interested but don’t have a California, they could rent one onsite, see http://www.masonscampsite.co.uk/vw-campervans.html, or they can come glamping.

Booking is direct with the campsite, under the group name of ‘VW California Club’

Pubs and Attractions.

2 good pubs within 5 mins walk, Craven Arms and New Inn (see Tripadvisor) and others as listed here - http://www.masonscampsite.co.uk/assets/where-to-eat-near-appletreewick.pdf,

Loads of other attractions close by, including but not limited to …

Bolton Abbey estate, https://boltonabbey.com/what-to-see/priory-church-and-ruins/

Perceval Hall gardens, http://www.parcevallhallgardens.co.uk/

Walks, (it’s on the Dales Way) e.g. https://www.theurbanranger.co.uk/si...E-Bolton-Abbey-To-Appletreewick-Circular-Walk

Even steam trains, http://www.embsayboltonabbeyrailway.org.uk/aboutus/locomotives and further away the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway.

Would be good to meet up!

Nice site this one. Last time I stayed they had an airstream cafe selling fresh croissants and lattes. Great area. Recommended.

Great site and location. The owner has a T6 California and various other VW’s including a lovely splitty flatbed. He also has a canvas tent business and the last time we spoke he was planning on making a more aesthetically pleasing awning to the Comfortz Leisure one, so hopefully he’ll have sorted this before June.

Would recommend booking a table at the Craven Arms as it can get busy. Arguably some of the best conditioned Yorkshire Bitter in the Dales.

There are also some good mountain biking routes and you can buy a day ticket to fly fish on the River Wharfe. There’s also a few geocache sites nearby.

It’s also the start of the Grassinton Festival http://www.grassington-festival.org.uk/ though not much has been announced yet for the first weekend.

Thanks for organising this forum meet. Just booked, look forward to it :thumb

Just booked this, thanks for orging.

We are Newbies. After lurking for 18 months, we bought one of the recent Coventry Listers T6 Ocean "litter" late Oct. We have equipped ourselves with all the "essentials"...have done one overnight so far to "test" everything and have another booked for 28th Dec.

We have 5 more weekends booked for next year (we didnt realise "nice" sites get booked up 3 years in advance...) and this one fits nicely...

See you all then

In our diary pending review of all other activity in 2018.

Hi there, we’re also part of the Listers ‘litter’ and thinking about booking this ‘meet’ - just wondering whether to book for the hook up or to manage without for the weekend and go for the riverside field, they say you’re good for quite a few days with a fully charged battery, what have you booked if you don’t mind me asking?

Booked in... Had the Cali 3 years now but never done a meeting like this... looking forward to swapping some tales....

We are on electric Wife is a coffee machine freak also makes a mean toastie

Hi

I have spoken to Masons and at the moment they have one booking on the what they call the Main Field with electric, guessing thats 'Pammyvan' as above, with the rest on the River Field without electric.

For what its worth all the weekends we've been away have been without electric with no problems, and the fridge was on for 5 days over Xmas with no hook up.

Hope that helps, be good to see you there.

Hello everyone, this is now added to the event page. Please go ahead and add yourself to the list if you are already booked. Thanks.

S1ANDS2 from Switzerland have hopefully managed to book correctly as this fits in nicely with a trip to UK. I see a couple of post from friends met at the Champagne meet 2017 - hope to see you there. .....Booking confirmed. Thanks for organising.

Booked us in with dog on the river field and looking forward to meeting up with everyone.

We are planning to attend. Sort out the details when back at home.

Hi Andy, how's it going? How many are booked and what's your max? We are still thinking of trying to enjoy some Yorkshire weather!!!

Hi, All good here thanks.

At the moment there are 11 vans booked in plus 3 maybe including yourselves, plus another couple who have commented good things regarding the site. Regarding capacity its a pretty large field so I wouldn't think that would be a problem. Its a nice part of the country with lots to do, or just meander and enjoy the scenery. Be good to see you there if you can make it.

:thanks

Just booked on the River Field, thanks Andy, look forward to seeing everyone. :thumb

Booked on the River Field! The site looks lovely. Many thanks for organising Andy, not too far for me to travel so I may not be last in the field this time!
