I chanced upon VWCampersales down in west sussex, great guys, really helpful, a pleasure to deal with and turns out have a big banner on this very forum as I keep seeing it pop up!

Really impressed with the service and communication provided by a chap called Tom. For some reason I expected a bad experience, being an annoyance to a commercial dealership with passenger car expectations of service, however they matched any experience I have had at BMW or Audi
I did have to pay £15 for a damage waiver for their rental transporter, however that was money well spent as it gave me the confidence to drive their Transporter into a Watford multi storey that I wasn’t too confident re height....turns out I had loads of room....but always better to find out in someone else vehicle

Thats interesting I was thinking I would have to avoid Watford Car Parks - I usually use Church.... I assume it the INTU internal car parks you entered?

Kings and Queens is too low but Palace works and probably would have before I had it lowered, noting the Transporter made it through unscathed

That’s assuming that post height boards they haven’t fitted CCTV or low lighting as experienced in other car parks
I constantly find the structure isn’t lower than indicated, but some sub contractor has fitted a light hanging off a beam
Please to say that Palace passed with flying colours and my wife can now continue her assault on our credit cards

Ok but that board looks as low as church and I am pretty sure thats too low (without lowering) but will have a look.

I think it would look better at the bottom of the doors, below the chrome strip. Less unique than the wheel arch but to me the wheel arch is more sponsors logo location.

I have ordered them so I will test location before deciding whether to put them on or not. I do like unique and I like replicating a classic design on a modern vehicle.

Ok so here I am in the pub in Bury watching City having pitched at the Burr Country Park Camping and Caravan site. Its -1 so first chance to test the Diesel heating. Well with roof down it heats than in minutes and a 12-14 degrees setting is fine. Worth noting that setting the bed ked to knocking off the rubber cover on the thermostat dial. Therefore i would not recommend this low but handy position! Anyway all cosy when I get back to van from pub....
