Weber Go Anywhere

Did you go gas or charcoal...?
It’s nice being able to pop the lid back on and not have to worry about cleaning fat and grease on a camping trip.
Then fire it up next time, lid on for 20 mins and give it a scrub with a wire brush, job done.

Ours is still going after 30 years use.
It has handles at each end which makes it easier to re-position the BBQ when in use, Weber in their ultimate wisdom have recently removed the handles. Presumably a cost cutting exercise.
Cooked all sorts of things including a sponge pudding.
Possibly needs to be retired now, like me it's showing it's age.

Went charcoal. It works well as an oven too. Once finished, lid on and it goes out so the charcoal can be reused.

I got one with handles....not used as much now I have the bush pig.

A handy mod is to take a hacksaw/dremmel to the grill and cut it into 2 pieces. Once done the grill sits nicely in the body for storage and you can also fit a small chimney starter, coals etc in the body.

Didn’t realise that was possible.
Presumed, once the charcoal was in a BBQ pit, that’s it game over.
Interesting.

Similar to the big Weber, park the charcoal over to one side and there is plenty of room under the grill to bake stuff in foil.

Have done majority of our cooking with lid on, plus of course smoking food.
Has two vents on lid, open one, close the other and you can direct heat/smoke where you want it.

Ah yes. Home smoked bacon. Good call.
