Does anybody know if this type of damage is common? Dealer has just pointed it out whilst replacing the headrest. I have no idea how it could have happened and wondered if it was a known issue.F7C63EF7-4552-4275-9071-36CA341B92D9.jpeg

Yes, he sent me the photo “before” he started the work. Seems rather odd... If it’s a common problem then I may be slightly less suspicious.

It's easily done. Did something similar to mine by pushing the seat back down to make the bed and it hitting a crate in the boot that was slightly forward of the parcel shelf.

Sadly we had the same, too.

Slid the flattened bed too far/fast backwards into the multiflex board, and it cracked the plastic.

Found the replacement part online, but it was about £300 for the parts only from memory!

I’ve a t5 (2008) which has the wooden board behind the seat for the bed.
Into this are 2 rubber stops which are screwed in to stop the rear seat when sliding back.
I’ve damaged the rear of mine after one of the rubber stops got knocked off exposing the bare screw head. This has then chewed a hole in the rear of the seat when in bed mode. :(

I’ve done that. It’s either the tailgate slamming something under the shelf forwards or pushing the bench back too hard if you’ve removed the front stop in the rail that sets the forward bench position. Here’s how to repair it:
