New T6.1 order delays

Just an update to my 204 4-Mo order to help understand how things are moving - it is apparently now in the UK (Sheerness) - so I'm guessing it spent 7-10 days at Emden.

It's getting to the point where I need to start thinking about how to get it from the south of England to the south of Scotland as my original plan to fly down and drive it back is obviously a non-starter. Not sure the option of some poor sod driving it all the way really appeals (nor would the 450 miles on the clock) but that might be the only option.
Hi @Swello - I have the same situation as you. Mine is currently at Sheerness and I'll have to get from Ayrshire to Surrey to collect mine. I'm reading the guidance as this being permitted as essential travel https://www.gov.scot/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-stay-at-home-guidance/

I didn't realise that "collecting a newly purchased vehicle" was a specific opt-out - that's good to know and might change my plans..
Originally it wasn't but was added to the list following lobbying from the Scottish Motor Trade Association

I cant see that specificaly listed in the "England" version of the same document, but looking online most car / motorhome / caravan places seem to be operating on the basis of give us a £500 refundable deposit then come & have a look & they are then covered as its "click & collect"

After Monday the rules change anyway & you are then free to travel, as the stay at home order finishes, but you cannot be away from home overnight.

I have just been told my van arrived At the docks Tuesday and is awaiting shipment ....but that it is on priority due the length of time since ordering....so no collection date yet but significant progress

Look fabulous

Russell please let me know how it drives when you take is home..I don’t think I have seen any comment on a 204 ..4 motion yet so it would be great to know What you think

Hi J and A,
We gave up on our order of 199/204 4Motion Ocean and snapped up a pre-Reg one that had to be sold before end of January. Now admittedly we haven’t done much driving due to lockdown, but we did have to pick it up from Reading and one other decent length essential journey. It drives very well - solid and very car-like. Acceleration is good too. The one we have was higher spec than our original order and has lane assist and Discover Media Pro. The lane assist seems great - I didn’t know it had it until I tried to change lanes without indicating (naughty I know but there was nothing behind!) The cruise control is great. The sound and navigation is excellent too

@cps26 i just called the dealer. I had to call though. I don’t think I’ve been proactively called or emailed since October! He checked and called me back. The code had changed. Good luck with yours.
Thanks @Hunchyfish! I'll give him a call again next week perhaps. Hoping that if you were 90 and I was 82, that ought to mean it's been started being built by this week (week 13) as well (or possibly even last week...) so perhaps arriving late April...

Well i am now at stage 7/8 in the build process with the advice of should be in transit by the end of next week. That was with a build start of the 15th! I have no idea what could possible take so long to take 4 weeks to assemble.

Still small steps are a cause for celebration when you are on this merry go round! 7/8 is better than 5/8!

Great news. I think you ordered in September. I ordered 8 Oct and am still at 00! But the dealer told me again this week mine is due to start build in April. All very confusing but I'm hopeful I'm still just a month behind you...

Dodge, mine started it's build the week before yours on March 8th and was finished and sitting at Emden released for shipping status 38, by March 22nd. However, it has been flipping sitting there ever since!!!! So don't worry, yours may have taken longer to build but will no doubt go straight onto the Malacca Highway!!

Hi All

So I've finally been given build week of 36 which will commence on 6th September. I ordered my 204 4 motion on 4th December?!!! So by the time it is built, shipped and delivered it will be the end of October. Just shy of 11 months.
Have i got this right or am I going mad? What a joke all of this is.

I'm about to blow a fuse.

It does seem to be the norm at the moment. What did your dealer tell you?

Ordered 14th November, build week was last week (assume it went ahead, we’ll see!), was 175th in the queue when the dealer list came out last month. 150 Coast.
Just an update on ours, as of yesterday it arrived at port and is on code 36 (arrived but not released for the ship yet), so the build week (11) we have had since February stayed true with no delays.

That is provisional status 10?

next to useless. hasn't returned one email apart from asking for the deposit.
I wouldn't rely too much on the build week if it's coming from VW chat, a lot of us had far away build weeks for a while until it all settled down. Between first reported build week and actual build week was 14 weeks difference.

Sadly, as the Cali’s are sold through the commercial van sites in the UK, that is the norm.
I don’t know what you ordered, but my T6.1 Beach was formally ordered 19th Nov (I say formally, because I ordered it on the 8th of November), I was told a build week beginning 25th January 21... check on line for status the end of the week before and it was already in build. It was then at the dealer 3.5 weeks later... (So from Germany to NE Scotland). It is possible...

I haven't reached 10 yet with an 8 October order...

Im at status 38, ordered late sept. Chat has no idea on shipping other than 7-10 days.
There were 2 boats from Emden to Grimsby earlier this week though so they may be trying to clear things up.
Hope the Malacca Highway is loaded with Cali's this week though.

Let me know how you get on and I will do the same for you ....it’s very frustrating and its likely to come to Grimsby and I live 4 miles away !!
Yes, will do. Is there any way to find out the ship and track it or anything. VW had told me it was 15 days at the port maximum and should be less but obviously not in your case.

City of Oslo arrives tonight at 20.45 with another load from Emden
