I guys we have just got our Cali and have a down stairs comfort mattress but I am reading an upstair topper is required does nay one have recommendations for an upstairs topper please ?

Try it first it might be ok as it is. Everyone is different. alot of people dont use one

I suppose it all depends how thick the topper is. I know that we have a summer quilt we use when we go away but it is still too thick for the roof to come down fully so needs to be taken off when travelling.

We've generally found the upstairs quite comfortable, but anyway just bought one of these toppers on recommendation from @Travelling Togs.

Although we haven't slept on it yet, we've tried it and it does make it much more luxurious, even decadent! :D We're looking forward to trying it out properly at Bolsover.

Interesting. It's one of the items we are thinking to buy. Excuse the daft question. Instead of or as well as the existing mattress?

And the roof still comes down OK with it place?
I wouldn’t chance that! :Nailbiting

It may do, but I’ll let someone else find out :D

The topper is more akin to a thick duvet, it rolls up quite small. We’ve made a Swiss roll of it with the upper duvet, it fits it the back easily and hopefully it will just unroll itself when we put it up top. Or if the weather turn bad, just use it in the bottom.

Agreed - the upstairs is perfectly OK for me as it is

I decided to knock a topper up with a good quality memory foam from a well known auction site along with a few meters of foux leather cloth. It was mainly for downstairs and it did make a hell of a difference over on top of the lower seats.
Using it upstairs for me, did not improve from the already comfortable bed.

Word of warning!
For those not use to the workings of a sewing machine contraption.
During the construction of the topper I decided to get up and go for a ‘P’, the half constructed topper case decides to follow me... must have wanted one too....
It seems somehow I had managed to sew this leatherette material to the leg of my trousers......

Hi @motacyclist ive just measured upstairs bed of my Cali ocean and it’s 120cm width and 200cm long - my question is how does your Silent night topper fit as it. 135cm wide?
I’m looking to order similar but just checking it will fit?
Thanks
Greg

I find upstairs very comfortable as is. I try to avoid carrying more things to keep space at a maximum.

Yes, it fits no problem, the fit is not critical. :thumb

would definitely try without topper first, as lots of us find the original a very comfy nights sleep !

We have a summer Duvet which we use and even that we find restricts the roof coming fully down. We have tried folding it all ways but it prevents full closure. So anything thicker than a summer Duvet i wouldnt chance it. Of coarse that doesnt mean you cant roll it up while travelling and just leave it in place on site....

Its was some while ago that you posted this post. How did you get on with the downstairs topper thingy. It looks quite and good and cheap compared to a lot of toppers. We are looking for something for the downstairs.

It was very good, I personally wouldn't go for anything more expensive but these things are subjective. Didn't cost much and doesn't take up much room.

Thank you.

After a few weekends away in our new to us (2016) Ocean we think we need a topper for upstairs. We have a comfortz mattress topper downstairs. My question is - has anyone used the downstairs topper for upstairs? I know it’ll be too narrow, but is it useable, I figure you don’t sleep right at the edge of the bed?! I can’t cope with the idea of carrying 2 toppers around!

If your downstairs topper is the same as mine it has a thicker section to cater for the rear parcel shelf so would not work on a flat surface like the upper bed.

Oh yeah it hadn’t occurred to me that the downstairs one might be different thicknesses along! I’ve never really examined it! Well we shall give it a trial run at the weekend!

We regularly use our downstairs mattress on the upper bed. It’s a bit heavy and bulky to move up but makes the upper bed much more comfortable. We don’t tend to bother if just staying somewhere for one night, but any longer and we do.
It doesn’t seem worth having and carrying two mattresses when one will do for both beds.

Oh that’s great. If that can work for us too that’d be ideal
