T6.1 Ocean 204 4 motion
Just been trying to configure a new Ocean & have come across a couple of 2023 updates.

Drive the deals configurator & price list corresponds with the latest brochure (July 13 2022) but the Vw configurator is not yet working.

First change is choice of colours.
The bayleaf & orange have been dropped Both as single colour & two tone. Instead we have some new 2 tone choices:Two-tone paint
01 Reflex Silver/Fortana Red metallic
02 Reflex Silver/Indium Grey metallic
03 Reflex Silver/Starlight Blue metallic
04 Candy White/Ascot Grey | BE | OC |

There also appear to be changes to what colour vans you can have the style & sports packs fitted to - it now appears to be any colour except 2 tone.

Other than that, it doesn't look any different to before.
Wood floor is still an option.

This has got me intrigued:
1. Sliding window with fly screen in passenger compartment, left.
2. Sliding window with fly screen in passenger compartment, right.
3. Sliding window in front and fixed window in rear in load/passenger compartment on driver side.

All 3 are options on the beach but 1&2 are standard on the Ocean with 3 being a further £240 option.I I cant see what it would be unless its a further slider behind the C pillar?

I like that they drop some colour combinations over time. It stops there being thousands of the same colour vehicle.
If you are spending that amount of money on a vehicle, you should be able to choose whatever colour you want (within reason). The more basic colours - beige, silver, black, white - are often easier to sell on . Starlight Blue, Sage Green, Yellow, Orange are more personal choices but not for everyone. Some like to keep colours subtle to avoid attention.

Whilst I agree that some colours are easier to sell on, I would have put starlight blue in that category & left beige as a hard to sell colour.

The two tone over silver colours look good, I particularly like grey/silver & its what we have on the GC - but at £3030 you would really have to wan't it!

Wow - interesting. I wonder how this will play out with existing, yet to receive a build date, orders that were placed with a now deleted colour .... Yesterday our order config was showing on the VW configurator site - today, no longer valid. I was only saying to the missus yesterday, I wonder if some of the held up orders are due to paint colour supply and hey presto .....

Just had a quick look at new brochure dated 13 July 22. Nice new colour combos but noticed that under standard equipment for Ocean, says manually operated pop up roof. Misprint ?

Suspect that 3. is just another typo in the UK price list and should only be for the Beach. Much as the brochure still has the roof for the Ocean listed as both manual lift and electro-hydraulic ..

Or maybe it is a £240 delete option ..

I spotted that but it does say hydroelectric in about 4 other places so suspect its a misprint.

Already fed up with the GC @andyinluton ? :D;)
You can't have too many vans.....

Was thinking an Ocean would be useful to have when the GC is in for tap replacement, wet room sealing, fridge replacement, skylight replacement etc

Then the GC could be used when the Ocean is in for new control panel, media updates & sagging roof.

I prefer silver over white in the two tones. The silver / blue combination looks great. However not sure could justify the cost if ordering today, over a standard one colour metallic.

I notice that bay leaf green has been dropped, perhaps run out of paint! As I’ve order in that colour hope they have enough left for my van.

Half hoping they have run out of green and have to offer a two-tone for free .. :)

Bay Leaf Green and Copper Bronze - the two dropped colours - are still listed for panel vans, so guess the colour options are just what VWUK want to offer for new orders (many other two-tone were available in Europe - just UK limited options).

No changes to tent material of the pop up roof?
Not mentioned in the brochure & the photos look the same with the same choice of 3 colours.

Couple of oddities in the configurator, but not mentioned in the brochure - manual hight adjustment on the front seats, you can select it but it forces you to reinstate the front bulkhead!
Also electric Comfort seats are back - Swivelgate 2 ?

I presume its the usual teething problems that VW have every time they do an update.

Be interested in seeing some of them new colour combos in the flesh. Red or Blue under silver could look good (especially when clean!)

The Configurator does look a bit of a mash-up of Van and Cali at the moment - loads of meaningless Codes too ... guess we give it a few days..

I just configured an ID.Buzz and the two-tone Bayleaf Green & White is only £1800...if someone is doing a camper conversion I'll swap my (yet to be delivered) Cali Ocean for it...;-)

Before seeing this thread and due to the ID config going live, I just found myself configuring a new Beach and noticed a load of new listed items:

Acoustic Glass
Premium Display
Comfort Dash
Fixed Ball Towbar
Water Heater with remote

Made me wonder if these were new options or just if the configurator had gone a bit wonky in the heat!

Edit… Just checked the new price list and the only change I can see for the Beach Camper is the change of the two-tone colours.

I saw Red under Indium in France a couple of weeks back and I really liked it. I think Red under Silver would look lovely..

Seems to me that they have done away with the retro colours due to the ID Buzz?

According the Caliboard.de the new roof material will be appearing from BW39 onwards, around the end of September. Makes sort of sense as the factory will shut for the two week holiday / break in August and the line will be serviced / retooled etc. That would normally when any major changes take place.

Assuming that's correct, I'd imagine there's probably new pictures and stuff coming soon. Looking at the "new" brochure today, they've just badly Photoshopped the old ones to replace the old two tone paint colours with some new ones. I'd guess there's no new actual models to take pics of, but you'd assume anyone configuring and ordering today will get one built well after BW39 so get a new style roof.

It could be the Beach in the UK now gets the options which were available on the mainland.

I’m in Switzerland and have a new Beach just arrived with some of the options you listed.

Water Heater with remote sounds a bit interesting. What's that?

Looking at it there seems to still be a lot of pack codes on the configurator being shown rather than the option names. I'd give the system a few days to filter through before taken any of it as gospel. The new oak cupboards are awful but love the new bottom two tones - not convinced with a silver upper though…
