Audio Upgrade for T7?

Having rented a few T6 conversions and californias, recently decided to buy and thrilled thrilled thrilled with the T7 California Ocean. A joy to drive, great to sleep in and I think the compromises around design work really well...however - one thing I struggle with is the quality of the sound. The music just sounds tinny and rubbish - and a big part of our family trips is playing DJ and listening to music.

Which is a long way of saying...what are our options to upgrade the sound? Everything seems fully integrated so I imagine it's not going to be simple?

I am also looking for an audio upgrade solution. One of the big questions is where to place the subwoofer. For Multivan there are solutions to put it on the dash or under the front seat.

Know I’ve already said it but I’d recommend giving Jason a call. Super nice guy and he’ll know all the options and can supply / fit if needed.

They built custom subwoofer enclosures for the T6/T6.1 will be surprised if they haven’t for the multivan

There's only one effective place for the sub, that's under the driver's seat. It transforms the music listening experience

I'm going to let these guys upgrade my sound: ahifi.cz They're great!

Here is a video where they worked on a multivan (in Slovak language, but you can turn captions)

A question: is it possible to listen to the audio while camping (and not draining the battery)?

Yes, but the vehicle computer will switch it Off after 20/30 minutes. You can repeatedly switch On until the computer says No. If you are on EHU with engine battery being trickled charged this will be OK but the 20 minutes limit still applies. You can rewire to leisure batteries but not easily done and you then have other problems as the system may not switch On/Off with Ignition.

That's annoying, I'd assumed it would just stay on in camping mode so we don't have to bring a portable speaker with us!

And if it was a simple radio you would be able to leave it on but the Infotainment System is integral to the vehicle function and has more computing power than the 1st Moon Lander.
