Genuine Sliding Cupboard/Wardrobe Door for VW California SE/Ocean
These are Original replacement Volkswagen California shutters
This is an original VW part.
Only shutter included.
Easy to install, simply remove screw from the retainers top and bottom with a screwdriver, remove shelves for access, slide out the damaged shutter and insert the new one.
– Remove the shelves and unscrew the plastic stays both top and bottom of the tracks. Set them aside.
– Remove the old tambour door.
– Clean the tracks with a pipe cleaner and vacuum.
– Wipe with a rag and pipe cleaner or wire.
– Carefully insert the new tambour door into the tracks and gently slide the door back and forth in the tracks.
– Replace the plastic stays and screw in place.
– Install the shelves.
– Job done.

Excellent replacement product. Replacing was a ten minute job.
– Remove the shelves and unscrew the plastic stays both top and bottom of the tracks. Set them aside.
– Remove the old tambour door.
– Clean the tracks with a pipe cleaner and vacuum.
– Wipe with a rag and pipe cleaner or wire. Naptha helps to remove old grease and dirt.
– Grease the tracks with clear silicone grease and, using the pipe cleaner, ensure the grease is well distributed even where the track goes behind the cabinet.
– Carefully insert the new tambour door into the tracks and gently slide the door back and forth in the tracks to ensure the grease provides smooth operation.
– Replace the plastic stays and screw in place.
– Install the shelves.
– Job done.

The only reason for the 4 stars was the cost.
This is a regular renewable item that has been the same for many years – I have had my California from new, in 2006 and have had to repace both cupboard doors (the same item still in use). We are encouraged to keep and repair items but the cost of regular parts is ridiculous. VW, not Campervanbits, is monopoly extracting huge markups.
So, Well done Campervan bits – but moan on my behalf to VW for ripping customers off 🙂
