Bought these and used in anger last weekend, very pleased with it overall and consider it a good buy – 3 star rating reflects fact that we need to think about how to seal sides better against wind and escaping dogs, plus will need to buy the van awning skirt to reduce drafts when dogs inside. Very windy weather experienced so tie-down kit essential. at the end, the wind got too much under the wind-out awning lifting it clear of the supports and the sides so will have to think about this too. Nevertheless, the ease with which the awning may be raised and taken down makes it very practical and useful

Purchased after extensive searching online.
There are cheaper solutions on eBay and dearer solutions via other established camper brands.
For our use, this is a brilliant solution.
I took it out of the bag for the first time and timed myself.
Within 5 minutes it was up!
We use our California mainly for short, 1 or 2 night stays. We have the Thule 5102 factory – fitted awning. It was made for this.
It’s brilliant to extend the living space and makes for a cosy place for the evenings.
Skirting is a brilliant addition to the latest version…!
Putting it away took me a full 7 minutes!
If you want a quick, sturdy, practical, good-looking and value-for-money solution then this absolutely hits the mark
I wouldn’t change anything.

Bought 26 September and arrived in Italy on 12 October.
Assembled for trial in no time and in the end the result is nice.
I have not yet had the opportunity to test the system in the field, but I believe it is valid.

Have only set up to test so far given lockdown but seems perfect for what we were looking for. Easy to set up and doesn’t take a lot of space in the camper to store. We will use this a lot, have bought tie down straps too but don’t see that we would keep up in very windy weather. Will update looks great quality and pleased with it so far.

Delivery was amazingly quick. 6 days over the Easter break!
Only used it twice so far and have no complaints. Hasn’t been windy, so can’t comment on the gaps. However I like the gaps so it doesn’t rub on the van paintwork!
Assembles really easily and made of good quality material and looks like good workmanship.

Not used in earnest yet, but looks and feels a quality product.

Overall a very useful “room” attachment to the Cali as some sites are restricting the the footprint of awnings on sites i.e. larger drive away awnings etc.
– quite easy to put up and take down
– decent quality
– would suggest using two tie down straps for the Cali
awning, need to purchase separately.
– could do with some instructions and perhaps an updated more comprehensive video from Comfortz.
– the pegs supplied are only for grass i.e not very strong and I think should be advertised as such. A lot of sites have hard standings and you will need to purchase a “hard surface” set of pegs to be able to use the awning room.
3 ⭐️ given as no mention was made by the supplier that the pegs supplied were only useable in soft surfaces (grass) and the first two sites that I tried to use the new awning room on were hard standings, the pegs were useless and the room could not be used.
New “hard ground” pegs now purchased from eBay – problem solved.

Very pleased with the awning sides. Easy to use. Instant extra room and also additional privacy. Not windy when we used it so we will have to wait and see how robust it is. We bought hard pegs and needed to use them as we had a hard pitch. We also bought, and used, the Thule awning straps which gave confidence.
We have stored the two end panels in with the picnic seats but were reluctant to put side panel in as well as it seemed too bulky to add.
We tend to stay somewhere for 2 or 3 nights and do not use the van, so the sides are perfect for us. If we were to be static for a longer period we may have to rethink what we use as they obviously need removing each time we drive away. For our situation this purchase has been perfect. The panels are well made.

Brilliant piece of kit. It really takes 10 minutes to put up, and that includes winding out the awning, and was really easy to take down in the rain. So much more compact than our drive away awning and you can stay dry as you take it down by taking it down from the inside. Perfect for 1/2/3 night stays and definitely best for wet weather.
Only down sides are you can’t drive away for the day obviously, there is no barrier under the car so you need to buy a skirt if you have a dog that likes to escape and the space is more compact than some side awnings due to the limitations of the Cali awning itself. Apart from that I love this. Good sturdy material and great to have the option of windows or not.
(I bought the side panels too and you will need them. Secured them with magnets off Amazon. Think they ought to be included which is why I’ve given it 4 rather than 5 stars)
i’m also disappointed I bought it and it’s gone down £50 a week or so later. Always a pain when that happens!
