After market options for side window t5.1

Hi there

Have an issue with my sliding drivers side window. Apparently due to water ingress through the seals and a common problem.

Been quoted well over £1,000 to fix.

Does anyone have any other options (or a cheaper place to source) and would a non Cali alternative devalue the can?

Yes, common. you should be able to get the unit changed for less.
can you see where the water is going?
This can usually be solved by cleaning and silicone rubber grease application to the window seal along with checking the window drain holes are clean.

Thanks for the reply. I think the metal has corroded. The main dealer sent me a pic and as I understand it’s a complete unit. Not sure if vw units can be sourced
