Airbag Error

We have just recently had the van serviced. Drive it home, no problem. Next time we use it "Airbag Error"

Now reading some of the other posts, my understanding this has to now go back to the stealers to be de-activated.

Question, to de-activate the error do they need to re-flash the ECU or just erase the code? Only our van has a DMS re-Map on it

They will need to read the code to see why its come on then reset it if necessary :thumb
The remap should be fine.I'm thinking of buying a handheld code reader to reset my own

Should in theory be fine for the map not being lost as resetting codes should not affect your remap. Could be a simple reset or a plug come adrift under one of the front seats as have seen that before.

Only thing to be aware of is that when it is plugged in, the diagnostic machine could read the fact that it has been mapped and upload this information to Volkswagen and will be available for all dealers to see in the future.

cheers
