Anyone in Biscarosse area / SW France right now?

Admin and packing is now virtually done, but we’re now worried about our intended destination (including one booked campsite) in Biscarosse, SW France. Recent news reports indicate wildfires. We plan to move on to the Dordoyne and then fiddle our way north back home.

Is anyone out there now and think that we should change our plans?

Probably best to avoid. The heat and fire risk is high in a lot of Brittany, Loire, Gironde and the South.

Just shows what a hot day does, now the UK has as high a risk as Southern Europe - extraordinary ! Even Derby is just the “Extreme” zone, and Derby’s well known for being extreme at nothing!

We got home yesterday after a 13 hour journey, train from Perpignan to Carcassonne, flight to Edinburgh and train to Morpeth...the reason.
Whilst we wait for our new Beach, we travelled out to France in our Q5 which broke down and is being repatriated.
We still enjoyed 2 weeks in changed circumstances
The moral to the brief story, get yourself out there and enjoy, acer. Yes it's hot and unpredictable, but hey, go for it . Stay safe.
