ok, but auto-leveling will stop dazzling oncoming cars - so maybe why the stickers are not needed.

The Auto Levelling function is just to compensate for variable loading of the vehicle so the dipped/main beam pattern remains unchanged no matter how the vehicle is loaded, within the designed parameters.
