Awning removal

The fi8 strips click over the lip on the top inside of the cover , ease one end upwards and away from the top edge the rest will then peel away.

Never had an issue with the awning in the way of the sliding door. We just use the strip and connectors as per design and works great to use, remove and reattach after a day trip.

Edit - after reading your post and other reply are you connecting them to the top of the awning exterior cover because that is where you think it goes? The kador strip goes on the lip inside the awning and these strips connect your kador strip to the drive away awning. You then pull out the plastic strips to disconnect the two to “drive away”.
Sorry for not replying earlier but I didn't see your follow up comment. I know the correct place to connect the kador strip but was concerned (from other posts and a friend who also has a California) that it would interfere with the sliding door opening. Having read the post suggesting that it was effective to attach the figure of 8 strips to the top of the WOA I thought I would try that (leading to the question in my post). However, your response has encouraged me to actually try doing it the proper way myself first and see how I get on. Thanks for your comments, Austin

Ah. No issues. We use ours a lot and never had it catch. It’s important to position the awning correct against the van as you can have it too far left or right and it could catch if too far right.

Thanks for commenting. That sounds like what I was doing but it was quite tight and tricky to get off. My plan is to try the official way first to see how I get on.
