Beach as car 1.85m+ through chunnel ...awning, automated line, stopped before?

On our recent trip we went out on Eurotunnel and back on DFDS Ferry (Dunkirk - Dover) as 'a car over 1.85m' and both were absolutely fine. Didn't even need to input a reg for the former and booked the later only at 9am on the same day we travelled back - on a 4pm crossing. I like both these operators. Super smooth and hassle free.

Never not once in the last 10 trips have I ever been questioned about this. They just wave me through and I enjoy the extra beer tokens on the other side.

We used to book our Cali se as a campervan now have a beach and for some mad reason booked our last crossing as a van.......

Advised by 2 staff at euro tunnel that we could book in future as a high car as we have windows all around!
