Bluetooth and i phone problem

I can't play music through my i phone 6 and Radio ( Kenwood DNX520VBT) I have turned my bluetooth on and it is working as I can make and receive calls on the handsfree. My radio is picking up my music as i can see the playlists on the stereo but sound is emitted.
I have tried using the aux wire but this doesn't solve the situation
Any advise from this wonderfully helpful website

Is this the first time you have tried? According to Kenwood, that model is not compatible with the iPhone 6.

My son has a brand new Vauxhall Astra as well as a new iPhone6, he could not get the phone to Bluetooth connect to the car either, a number of phone calls later and 2 visits to the Vauxhall and it's finally sorted, the car had to have a software upgrade to make it compatible with the phone. It seems phones are becoming too advanced and the newer ones are more problematic than older handsets.
