Buying A Cali After Owning A Grand California. Pro's and Con's??

I ended up loving my GC 600 after writing many posts of despair, mostly regarding warranty service in Spain. (I ended up finding a great VW service department in Valencia.) I sold the 600 a few weeks ago with mixed feelings (an understatement). At some point I will want a larger van again but I need to sort out my license (very challenging for an American ex-pat in Spain) because I don't want to be constrained to vehicles weighing under 3.5kg.

So... it looks like I will be getting a Westfalia Kepler One, 204hp, AllMotion. (Four wheel drive is a priority going forward.)

I'm wondering if anyone has experienced the same "downsizing."

I think I will be fine with less storage and I will certainly appreciate the relative ease of exploring cities- not to mention the annoyance of paying tolls in Europe with a conventional van My biggest concern is the difference between sleeping in a pop-up as opposed to the wonderful fixed bed in a GC. Noise? Temperature? Comfort? There will never be more than 2 occupants.

Any observations would be appreciated .

You'll be fine. You may have to take less stuff but that can be liberating.
