Cali chair spare parts

Think the forum shop have spare parts for the chairs

I actually need 2 of those... Are these easy to find?

I am searching for some bolts for our chairs aswell, will these be stocked in club shop please?

No we won't have these in again.

After seeing some information on an older thread we emailed whaug@camping-schuh.de from http://www.bel-sol.de who are the company that supply the chairs to VW, we emailed to check as the chairs are not on their site catalogue. He is going to hopefully send us some spare parts (we sent him a pic, below), he was really helpful. I'm just waiting for a price, postage cost and payment method information from him now he has our address, will keep you posted.

Hi , having just realised we have a missing bolt , which we think is under a caravan parked opposite us ( I know , I was reading and chilling in a vacant space opposite our Cali ) . It might be easier to order a new one now . How much did it cost you inc p&p ?
Mrs B

We emailed them and they did not charge us at all!! Worth doing the same!
Also, as our Cali was due her 1st service I spoke to VW and they swapped the chairs free of charge as part of the warranty...
Worth doing both as you might end up with new chairs if you are under manufacturers warranty and then a spare set of bolts!

We notice one of ours was missing and the bolt was hanging out, found it on the floor a few mins later, checked the other chair and it was holding on by two threads!
Obviously a manufacturing issue!

You can't blame VW for that lol

I have to say Wolfgang was an absolute STAR!
We too contacted him regarding missing bolts and he very kindly supplied us with replacement bolts.
Cannot praise Wolfgang whaug@camping-schuh.de from http://www.bel-sol.de enough!!!!!!

Thank you so much!

Having taken Cali in to the garage for some work to be done , they have ordered a new chair for us under warranty . Well pleased .

Bolts dropping out is a common thing.
I tighten all the bolts on the chair about once per season as they do become loose. This prevents you losing bolts or having damaged plastic joiners thru the loose joints.
It's surprising how quickly they become loose....

I had the same thing happen, lost both the bolt and spacer while using the chairs on a canal boat...thanks to the information here I also emailed Wolfgang Haug and received the same excellent result. He said it was 'Set 2' and helpfully attached a pdf showing the different bolt sets.

When the 'Set 2' arrived I wondered why there were 2 locking nuts included. I guessed there must be a nut inside the leg for the bolt to engage but turning the bolt on either side feels too easy to be going into a locking nut. I'm a curious bloke (apparently) so I eased out the plastic insert to have a look and saw there was a locking nut on the far side but the bolt just looked too short to be going right through to engage the locking ring. There's also a receptacle for a bolt on the near side of the insert so I pushed the spare locking nut into this and now the bolt goes through this as well as grabbing the first couple of turns of the original on the far side. Sounds more complicated than it is so hopefully the photos will speak a thousand words. It certainly now takes a fair effort to screw the bolt in and feels more like a locking nut - and it ain't going anywhere now.IMG_20180619_154920086.jpg

Anyone had this problem. The right hand plastic joint insert that joins the front leg bar to the arm rest support bracket has broken. This is odd because as far as I can work out it isn't placed under much stress when in actual use.

I've visited my dealer and the Service Manager says that I will require a new chair!!! He's taken a photo and will send a report to VW where upon a replacement should be issued under warrantee.

If the plastic joint part were available and it wasn't factory riveted in place then it would be a two minute job to fix. I don't know what a new chair would cost but issuing a new one due to the failure of what must be only a 10p part seems daft. Still I'm not complaining!

But VW don’t bare the cost anyway. The Chair Manufacturers will.
