Sitting in the evening sun in a campsite at Jumieges, about 15 miles from Rouen, and we've just had a dozen oysters....opened with the oyster knife we keep in the van... Somehow seems very decadent eating oysters while camping...we can't be the only ones with an oyster knife?!

Next trip proposal then: Seafood Safari's in Normandy, Bretagne, Zeeland,...! Free wild oyster and seaweed banquet at low tide.

Don't forget the great mussel beds in the area. Spend many a happy day collecting mussels and latter eating them with a little wine and garlic. And todays catch of oysters with a bit of lemon. Sometimes I do miss living in France, but not too much.F

Yep we’ve got an oyster knife- handy in Scotland too. I keep a crab shell cracker too- not used that yet.
The biggest luxury is a hand held, 12v, espresso maker to make decent coffee.
