After recent posts about Comfortz Leisure starting to produce seat covers I made contact with Nick, who kindly sent me a set of prototype covers to trial - and also protect my very new seats on my Cali which was collected in December! I have had the covers on for the last 3-4weeks and must say I am very impressed with the styling, fit and quality - clearly the same attention to detail which is applied to his other products. Very easy to fit, and they have bedded in really well. I have had trouble uploading the pictures, but will hopefully get these added to the post in due course.

The prototype set are a machine washable fabric material (grey with blue panels), and Nick informs me they are a lower quality material than he intends to use for the final design - which potentially makes them even better. There will be a choice of fabrics and colours, and I have ordered a set of Faux Leather in dark/light grey which I am looking forward to receiving. Nick hopes to have these in production through February, and although costs have not been finalised he thinks £250-£350 depending on fabric. My view is this represents really good value when you look at other similar products out there.

I hope this is of use, and I'm sure Nick will happily answer any further questions. I will meanwhile continue to try and get photos uploaded.

They look good, and certainly look hard wearing :thumb Might have to try a set on one of mine :thumb

Hi John, you've saved me sending a separate email - here's yours seats in progress - great colour choice they look fab.
Sorry about the quality of the photo's they were taken in a rush on my phone! They don't do the covers any justice they look much better in the flesh :D

Thanks to everyone else for all the interest and questions, now we've got the design just how we want them we're starting to look a cutting the times down on manufacturing to turn them round a little quicker - watch this space! :thumb

The side panels are velcro'd together to allow for airbag deployment.

They do look good!!! How do you fit them around the plastic headrest height adjusters??

Thanks :thumb - They've been a long time in the perfecting!

It has strengthened holes in the top, slightly smaller than the adjusters so when they're on they sit underneath them - I'll drop a photo on to explain better tomorrow.

They look great, when will you be selling them and what will the price be for a fake leather set, say black and grey?? :thanks

They look great. Let us know when you have full colours and materials ready to peruse! Are they all leather-look like in the photos above or will you have other materials too?

Just wondered if they had holes for the IsoFix child seat fittings? The standard VW (and Inka) ones don't.

Thanks
Mark

Each to their own; I think they make a quality vehicle look like a minicab... just one opinion

Oh No! I'd better hurry and get some better quality photo's uploaded to try and convince you otherwise Johnyboy!

Sadly the photo below is not of the best quality but shows what the prototype kit comprises of :thumb

2 x front seats covers (Base and back).
1 x back bench seat. (Base and back).
4 x arm rests.
4 x head rests.

John this is your completed set, so feel free to pop up and we'll get them fitted for you.

Thanks for all the interest folks, the phone has been off the hook, I'll upload a detailed post shortly of all the materials and options, but in essence we'll have a range of faux leather, suede and car upholstery fabrics available. The more common colour options (say black and grey) we'll try and hold stock of. The custom colours we'll manufacture to order and have a waiting list - timescales will depend on just how busy we are.

You can see from the pictures there's so much work that goes into these covers and RRP for something like the ones in this post would be £499 with 10% off for VIP members. Material (Automotive) will be a little cheaper - I'll confirm what this is shortly.

:thanks

Nick

Do the fixings just pull through the gap between the base and back of the seat? if so then yes as the rear covers come in two parts - base and back. - Hope this helps :thumb

Oh right - that should be fine then. I didn't realise they were in two parts.

On another note, how waterproof do you think they would be? Would they protect against minor spillages etc.? We have quite a few of these with two kids and one clumsy dad!

Thanks!

It might make it look like a "minicab" in your opinion, but when it is your only vehicle, and mine is just that, i need to try and protect the original covers.
It has also been used as a furniture removal vehicle, both here and in France, garden waste removal vehicle, transporting building materials. Apart from shopping, transporting grand children, general day to day travel, and when i was working it was used as a business vehicle and for overnight stops. So yes if you want to call it a minicab i don't mind. At least it is used every day, now done 110,000 miles and looking forward to the next 110,000 miles

Hi Folks,

Another couple of pictures of another set of seat covers someone has ordered in the manufacturing process. :thumb Black and Red with red detailed stitching.

I should have took more time fitting them :? spot where I've stuck the velcro together correctly!

Hi, do you plan to make any in fabrics with nice, bright flowers to give a retro feel to a purple Cali :laugh2 - only kidding, I think!

I've only just picked up on this thread as I'm now looking at seat covers seriously, preferably leather. When you say faux leather does this mean that they're not breathable?
I thought that might be an issue when travelling long distances. Also how much extra would it be to have the rear mattress covered?

Hello Freeley,

Apologies for the slow response I'd missed your post :?

You make a good point - probably a full leather set wouldn't be that breathable particularly in the summer months, the best option in my opinion is faux leather with a coloured material insert.
We have a vast range of different colours / materials including (VW OEM) for the inserts so the choice is yours really.

The rear mattress cover would be the same price as the waterproof one we do - £59.99 for VIP members.

Drop me a call if you have any questions - or would like any samples etc.

Cheers
Nick.
