Drive the Deal are currently offering 9.9% discount, not including the £1000 you get if you take out finance. I don't really want to use DtD, because if everyone uses DrD, we will only end up with Eurovans in Crawley selling Californias. Has anyone matched or bettered this recently with a local dealer?

I was in VW Birmingham yesterday and was told that VW head office had issued instructions to dealers not to take any further Transporter orders. She believed this extended to the California too. Apparently VW factory has too many back orders that they need to manufacture and clear.

Doesn’t quite gel with the current Happy Campers campaign!

I have also ordered through Breeze and got something like a 9.2% discount but it is hard to be precise because I also part exchanged my current Ocean and the deal depends on the part exchange value included. I think that you just have to be satisfied with the overall value for money you are getting and whether you can afford it and can go away happy.

Can you throw the Buzz in as part ex and ask for 12.5% discount, plus above original purchase price for the Buzz...?
Surely the deal of the century for you and they have a sale, plus a Buzz to flog.
If you don't ask...

Selling the Buzz tomorrow, and placing an order for a California, taking advantage of VW's Happy Camper campaign that finishes on the Monday. (How could you order on Monday when it's a Bank Holiday? )
So come on Soulstyedevon, you know you regret cancelling your Buzz order. A white/lime yellow Buzz could be yours.

I would love one for a bit.
Maybe next Gen when they've made some improvements. Ive opted for a 2018 BMW 335d touring. Doesn't quite have the Buzz appeal, but its a shed loads cheaper ;)

Eurovans told me yesterday that the Happy Camper offer effectively expires there tomorrow for anyone still thinking about purchasing. Hadn’t connected the dots but as mentioned above, assume it’s due to the bank holiday.

Only affects the transporter variants. Caddy and Crafter variants are being promoted.

Perhaps someone here with close VW ties can elaborate?
Not what I’ve been told when I was with a dealer a couple of days back. When they stopped selling the Transporter vans it came totally out of the blue and the dealer I spoke to didn’t get any notice whatsoever, he had taken a deposit from a gent looking to order a Kombi one evening just before closing (had spent weeks spec’ing it with him) , logged on to order the vehicle on the system the following morning and the option had gone (poor chap never got his Kombi). I don’t think dealers are getting any notice but I think it’s likely that a stop sale may happen imminently after this promotion.

Speaking to @Tomdbreeze yesterday, Breeze will also need orders confirmed tomorrow to get the Happy Camper promotion.

I agree, the Buzz is totally amazing to drive, it really is. But in the end it is just very large 5 seater van/car, that needs a few more attributes to justify it's price.

Tom, DtD are saying extended till 11am. Who's correct, hopefully you.

Hi Tom i was also looking for a deal how do i private message you ?

Thats probably because DtD need a bit of time to get their order placed with a dealer?

Slight deviation, but have been in process if replacing car (VAG), and intended to buy nearly new/demonstrator to lose first depreciation hit.
Conversation with dealer moved to 'have you considered new', and I mentioned DtD price and could they get near. Let's try came the response.
Long story short, two weeks on and picking up new car tomorrow at a price only a few hundred more than DtD, about 12% off asking price.

But why did you decide to order with the dealer if DtD was cheaper…?

Only a few quid in it, exact spec car available in stock so no waiting, part ex on top of deal, all felt easier.......but not completed yet so that last bit might change!!

Ok, I see.
Yeah, the part ex dynamic does change things :thumb
