Dealer fit lowering springs

@66tim99 just in case you haven’t seen the bamboo garden green. Not sure what it would look like in two tone.

Thanks very much. Looks close to blue in that pic. I think I've decided that the stealthy Ascot Grey and black (sports pack) look won't really benefit from two-tone. I'm just going to PPF the front end and ceramic coat it for similar money to wrapping the bottom half...I think. If I see a perfect wrap colour to complement Ascot before I take it to Azuri, who knows...

Yes it is a strange colour, blue in some lights and green in others, but I guess that is what I like about it. Having seen all the pictures in this thread, I am definitely erring towards the 30mm lowering springs.

Is there any preference to having dealer fit springs over going to a specialist suspension company. Would dealer just fit springs as per request as to i should imagine a specialist using laser alignment equipment etc. I'm not an expert at all so not really sure what they use, just interested on how both parties would go about the install. Would changing springs, etc effect warranty?
Thanks

As long as you use the VW -30m springs then the warranty is fine, I believe most dealers use the Hunter alignment system as do many specialists.

What about this ascot grey van with a mossy green wrap @66tim99?

Is there a real noticeable difference when lowering the springs, especially on a T6.1 4motion?

Hi
I see you ordered your California in Ascot grey with the sports package, i bet that's a great combination. I am still trying to understand what you get on the sport pack, are you able to help at all. I see you get the wheels, B pillar, darker rear lights, darker rear glass? Anything else i may have missed?
Thanks very much.

-30mm is okay. I think mine is lower on the B14 Komfort coilovers and I'm finding that I catch the mudflaps quite a bit.

The Thule levelling ramps are a tight fit with the side bars.

The confuserator doen't help does it? I rang the dealer to be definitive. I believe you get:
- Black Springfield wheels. The only way to get these tremendous wheels OEM - expensive aftermarket (c£2k).
- Upgraded glass (Z2C pack) which includes laminated cab glass (acoustically superior, perhaps temperature too). I think the tinted rear glass is the same as standard on the Ocean, but like other packages is mentioned in the description of the sports pack in error (you've already paid for it as standard).
- Black underguard. This is visible (particularly on lighter colours) front, rear and sides, and presumably protects the underside somewhat. It also prevents the fitting of sidebars.
- Black B pillars (painted or wrapped I'm not sure)
- Black painted mirrors
- Tinted rear lights

It also comes with “Suspension Option 267”. I haven’t been able to work out what that is. Sportier/stiffer springs? I don’t know.

Hadnt spotted that - where is that written please?

Thanks for that
Still confused though, when you add the sports pack + £2640 it then wants you to add the edition wheels + £3336 plus it then wants you to select Z2C which is a further £732! Thats a crazy amount!
Would you think this is incorrect too?
Thanks

The 1st July 2021 price list has it down at £2,640 option. The configurator is wrong in my opinion.

It has been in various elements of the configurator during 20/21. Right now it’s in the Sports Pack/Edition Wheels/Details

Yes the configurator and brochure are riddled with errors. You pay £2640 (less drive the deal discount)

Phew,
Love the sport pack, but not that crazy price.
So for £2640 you get the black wheels, the black b pillar, the mirrors in black, the front and rear black trim along with the side black trim, the rear darkened lights and the extra privacy, insulated glass.(and possibly some suspension tweek), and that i think is the lot, would that be correct?
Thanks once agin.

I wonder if it includes the 30mm VW lowering springs fitted from standard. My gut feeling is that’s not the case but what else could it be that’s suspension related?

Yes, but
- as above, I don't think you actually get 'extra' privacy. The privacy glass is standard on the Ocean. I think I saw California Chris explain the tint is unchanged with the Sports Pack (so should be removed from the configurator list of inclusions in the sports pack.)
- I see the suspension tweek now related to the 'Edition alloy wheel'. I'd like to know what that actually is. I got in touch with Chat...and guess what... they don't know! They THINK it is the lowered suspension (26.7mm lower) but Amirah is checking it out and will email me on Friday...

It’s a huge amount of money on top of the sport styling pack. I think the “ edition alloy wheel” is a mistake on the configuration, it’s too much money on top

Agree, the sports pack is basically the wheels and cab glass and some black bits. If you have to pay for the wheels and cab glass on top, the black bits are £2600!
Suggest you speak to your dealer to clarify.

Hi
I'd love to know what they say? Didn't know there was a live chat to VW, is it just used for checking the progress of your order, or is it for general technical questions?

Yes its for anything I think - especially give them your order number and they'll tell you what status it is at. They have been getting that a bit muxed ip though recently. So don't expect too much, you may need them to seek and answer and get back to you. And know that if the wait between messages is too long, 3 mins or so, you time out. I just send a full stop every few mins if I'm kept waiting, to keep the chat open.
