Dilemma side bars

Hi All.

Before I ask the question I know it is personal choice.
The Wife and I are considering purchasing a Indium Grey metallic 204 Dcg Ocean.
We are looking to have side bars fitted but not sure what would look best on this particular colour,
Have seen a Vw Kombi with both types, the Chrome ones are the latest shape,
Do any forum members own a Indium Grey Cali, what bars do you have and what was the deciding
Factor with your choice.

Mine was a really easy choice. Due to a build error I had to wait for the correction and was given some dealer options.

Here’s a couple of pics of my Indium Grey with the VW side bars.

I think the Trapezoid look much better on the T6, these are also the genuine Volkswagen ones.

We have indium grey with VW chrome side bars personally vet happy I’ve had cheaper options on other vehicles but they quickly tarnished

Thank you both for the quick reply, have you both got the Chrome pack, the California we are looking at does not have a chrome pack fitted.
Must confess both your California’s look spot on.
We have a Olympian Blue California at present, but having seen your pictures
I am impressed with the Indium Grey.
I will be fitting our 18 inch black Dakar’s to our new California ( if we buy it ),
And think the bars like yours would look better than the black.

Doris does not have the chrome pack she’s amazing thou, why did I worry about spending £56K on a demo model, she’s got most of the options and the best investment of any car / vehicle ever made. Happy Cali’ing great colour choice

Do like your covers will have to continue with our standard covers for now.
We have had our 2014 180 California for over 3.5 years we also bought a a demo fantastic vehicle high residual, have done a great deal against a new one
With a great discount.

If you have the chrome pack the chrome bars fit in very well with the Indium grey. If you don't have it, you might also consider the black side bars as we have.

These are also VW original and do make an alternative to chrome.
It comes down to personal choice at the end of the day.

Yes mine has the chrome pack so chrome worked for me. Wheels also make a difference but as I have black & silver wheels I could go either way.

Yes the round ones look a bit too chunky for the T6, the newer ones fit the angles of the T6 much better

Most you cant normally step on to get into the Cali so are purely ornamental

They do help against side damage as you gave to ding the bars first before the sides get damaged

No, not really. Whilst they might save the lower bodywork in a slight scrape with a low object they are really only pure jewelry.

Nothing wrong with the odd bit of jewellery or candelabra
