Farewell T6 Ocean, Hello T6.1 Ocean

Our 2017 T6 Ocean 150 4Motion manual (a rare beast as we found) went to the breakers last week
We’d had it from 8 months old and with the COVID interlude and me working abroad for 2 years it felt hardly used.
Anyhow my wife encountered a large patch of black ice one morning commute at the end of January and that turned out to be its last trip. My wife was fine, the Cali less so as it encountered structural damage during its transition to 90 degrees from normal!
A fair deal from our insurers, AVIVA who were great to deal with means I’m collecting a 72 plate T6.1 Ocean 4MOTION DSG on Monday, so a happy ending.

Thats good did you have to fight with the insurance company?

No, AVIVA were easy to deal with and the Motor Engineer recognised that a rare Cali wasn’t going to be easy to replace. Neither of us could find the same model for sale so we worked on a non-4Motion and a 204PS DSG 4Motion of similar ages at realistic price. All agreed within a week of him assessing. Just short of 7 years ownership and 30k miles cost us £6k.
