Finally got myself another Cali !

Have to say it was these pics on the FB page that finally settled my 'White' or 'Indium Grey' dilemma. :thanks

Having spoken to @SimonB yesterday who also has the Dynaudio system he is very happy with it, I think the problem I personally have is that I had the HK system in my Discovery before which is in a totally different league. I have spent ages playing with the Dynaudio settings but I still get speaker rattles in the door ( I am not even sure if the speakers in the door have been replaced as part of the upgrade) also it appears impossible to turn the base up past zero.

It is 'OK' and is an improvement over the standard system however if I was buying another van I would spend the £1,400 on something else or an aftermarket upgrade.
Sound deadening the doors (with Dynamat or similar) would probably make a significant difference. Great looking van.

I agree with the above post but perhaps manufacturers should render the idea un-necessary

Car manufacturers save money on audio systems and charge over the odds for upgrades that are poor value. Sound deadening would be cheap and easy to apply during the manufacturing stage and would make the vehicle quieter, give the doors a higher quality feel and vastly improve the audio system sound.

and 4motion with DSG is a must :sad
Had a look at the van range and that has no 150 4M DSG making no base vehicle available to convert.

The 204 will whisk you sister and mobile accommodation to and fro pdq.

A specsavers moment :Stig

I read that as "Sound deadening the doors (with Dynamite or similar)

A bit extreme :sad

In my experience dynamite is not very quiet either :shocked

I’m not experienced in dynamite like you, Jen, but I’d imagine that you wouldn’t hear much after it’s used either...

Much of my academic time was in the USA and my specialist field involved a lot of the USCW. Being based for a lot of that time at the Virginia Military Institute I was often invited to "re-enactments".

One of those organised was led by a rather large FAB, (The first two words in the commonly used acronym Are Fat and American, you can guess the third) and the only thing bigger than his belly was his mouth.

We continuously clashed, mostly due to his ignorance of history, or rather, his refusal to look at the reality and only at the hollywood-glamourised version. During one exchange I noted behind him a battery of cannon being filled with black powder. We were close enough to almost sit on one.

As he continued to rant on I put my ear defenders on.

As he continued to rant on I noticed the artillery director with a burning taper about to put it to the replica of "old secession".

I winced, waited for it, and watched the rant continue, FAB being oblivious to the activity behind him and deaf to the calls of warning.

The look on his face as the Boom and percussion pressurised his ears to almost bursting point. I tried ever so hard not to laugh...... honest :D:D:D

That’s a bit naughty. I’m sure there were skid marks as well... :D
