Fridge lid does not lock shut

Our fridge lid refuses to clip shut, if it is slammed it may catch but I do not want to keep doing this at the risk of smashing the glass. Is there an adjustment that can be made so it closes smoothly?

I found the same with mine...pushing down firmly makes it lock - like you I don't want to slam it. I wondered if it gets better as it gets used more?

We noticed this on our new van, I think the reason is that the seal on the underside of the lid has not yet compressed and needs a firm push. Our previous Cali shut easily, probably because the seal had bedded in.

I had the lid replaced under warranty, and it still will not click shut unless firmly pressed down, and then it still works itself free after some hours.
