Great White Errors

cheaper than upgrading the alloys?

Bizarre thing was , only on the one side!

Maybe they always put them facing the strange wee campervans - their owners always staring in puzzlement when they drive in, pull out the chairs and have a beer without having to do any admin?

This (ie Caravan Road Rallying) was an actual sport back in the '60s and '70s'. Some big rallying names of the era like Tony Pond (below) and Pat Moss took part. Bring it back!

But here's something proper to tow behind a Cali.

In The Netherlands they used to have a race with Daf cars, that had some automatic gearbox allowing them to drive as fast forward as backward... Second manche was then a caravan race. Hilarious to watch it again

Bah, you can see that sort of thing in a British Waitrose car park any Friday before a bank holiday weekend.

We were on a site recently on the IOW (4 nights), to do some cycling, and as we moved off everyday, we had to pack up and secure everything and put the kids seats back in etc,. We don’t use an pop up tent etc so everything lives in the van and the bikes are on the rack.

On the last day, chatting to a GW owner while washing up, said he couldn’t be bothered to do what we do, ie bring the bedding down, roll the sun canopy in if we’ve had it out over breakfast, etc etc, all seems like to much effort and wasn’t for him. Let alone us 4, If he was having to do that, he would have felt like he would have come on holiday by mistake. Lol.

Tbh I quite enjoy it, the kids, 3 & 5, have their tasks and are kept busy and we can go from sitting round the table playing uno over breakfast to chocks away in about 15 mins. Haha.

I’ve always enjoyed watching other set ups tho, the amount of stuff they have does also make me wonder if they have come on holiday by mistake.

Given that 911’s don’t come with tow bars, option 3 is the only (non-Cali) choice.
A 911 passed us in France a couple of years ago towing an Eriba, I was doing 80 mph at the time and thought I was pushing my luck as I was towing and about to slow down. One of those moments when your speed drifts up.

My Auntie used to have a red Spitfire when I was a kid. That’s when my passion for cars kicked in...
I remember my sister and I used to ride on the rear bulkhead behind the front seats.
They were the days...
Our German Shepherd used to sit there in our Mk 111 with her head on the top panel watching the vehicle behind.

Each to his/her own but I find the “encampments” puzzling. Pitch perimeter staked out with 4ft wind breaks and solar “security“ lights strategically placed to deter invaders. Just need a couple of German Shepherds and it could be the Berlin Wall.

Please don't get me started on those LED flag pole lights! Why bother to look at the stars, when you can instead look at 1000's of LEDs !

ArunAlec, do you mean with regards to wild or stealth camping?

Sadly neither but in the untamed confines of campsites.
Yes but thankfully we were up against the wall with that view, so could block others out and sit and watch the Dolphins. Mrs K would never allow me to pitch that camper anywhere but on a site.

The worst I saw was the owner pulling out an electric lawn mower to mow his little patch.
Seen someone with potted plants set up outside ...... but they might have just bought them.

If we're including caravans in the odd behaviour spotting, how about this tow car covered in Christmas lights we camped near in August?

What’s the point of this...?

GW with awning pulling a noddy car.
Surely, once you start pulling another vehicle, you may as well buy a Caravan...?
Then, you erect an awning on the mother as well...

Is it just me, or does this make absolutely no sense whatsoever?

I Posed this question to a Youtuber who does just that.

Why not get a really nice car and caravan. When you are parked up you have a really nice car. And the combo would probably be cheaper.

And of course when you are not travelling you don't £80,000+ on your drive doing nothing.

He didn't respond.
