Help control panel not working, we are on trip

Hey all
It started yesterday, flashing from G to Hook.
This morning everything was back to normality.
Now it doesn t work anymore .
I checked fuses but they seems good.
I can t reset it.(dunno if there is a way to reset it if display doesn t work)
The “problem” is we are on a trip 2k kms from home, in 3 people and 1 dog plus all the luggages, food and so on.
Any idea if is possible to fix it or there is nothing to do?
I m scared to ask but how much the control unit costs?

Others on here are much better placed to advise you, but in the meantime maybe try forcing a reset by disconnecting and reconnecting the negative cable on the starter battery?

Reset instructions courtesy of Welshgas:

1. Have you actually Switched the Control Panel OFF, using the Bottom L button?

2. Switch On the Control Panel using Bottom L button. This will re-boot software.

3. When Control Panel is On - Press and Hold Bottom R button and press Control Knob fora few seconds. A " New " hidden Menu is displayed. Scroll to " Volkswagen " and " Diagnostics " . Any Error codes shown?

If Codes shown, copy down and use Reset function to Clear them.

You have to tap I/0 twice to switch it off. Then after a while press again to turn it on and reload

It doesn't matter if the Display shows anything or not.

Switch OFF using the Left Lower I/O button.
Wait at least 30 seconds and then switch ON using the same button.
What happens?

Nothing changed
Light turns on while display shows nothing

Remove the 5a fuses from under the left seat (one fuse is the tap so just do both)

today is started again but now:

it flashes from G to Hook
It says the roof is open (it s closed obv)
I can t turn it off without removing the key because of the roof alert

I did a reset and it only shows code 1000 now.

i also tried to open and close the roof but it still show it as open

try to erase the fault code(s) as indicated in the display: press ESC (RB button) for 5 seconds.

Now that it’s back on, what can’t you do to enjoy holiday? Will roof not open/close? Does it work ok? The roof icon showing open shouldn’t stop you doing much. Many of us have had that problem.
