Yesterday we came home after a ferry trip from Meersburg to Konstanz (lovely) and easily passing Zurich (no traffic jam between Gubristtunnel (famous for it's never ending construction site and as a result traffic jams) it was only about 3 hours from Wirthshof to our doorstep.
We discussed and tried to think about things we didn't need at all or were super useful (and we never thought about that) and also made a list of fav campings. Both lists were a fun thing to do and to recap the great time we had these last 4 weeks on the road.
As this post is in the Cali Kids post let me start with the kid/baby stuff:
Never/only one - two time used: Kidsstuff
- took too much socks or clothes in general (you can wash your clothes almost on every campsite)
- Thule Chariot (it fitted nice on the multiflexboard - luckely): He wasn't ready for that or we weren't patient to try more than one time.
We often used/We were happy with...: Kidsstuff
- a simple blanket on the floor between bench and passengerseat to create an area to rest
- nappy undermat (to change... you know what I mean)
- Joolz Geo stroller (it fits easy on the multiflexboard and was perfect for almost everywhere. Except: sand, gravel), wheels are full plastic and it is easy to handle
- Maxi Cose Pebble plus (of course): Easy to remove and we stored it on the drivers seat.
- (we loved the internal blinds: just pull them and he's got additional shade)
- child carrier (we looked like a kangaroo, but he liked it and it helped to get him to sleep)
In General we never used/seldom:
- All kind of shower things (got thing to click to the tap. I think it's a "Gardena" one)
- Potti (335): Brandnew never used because she doesn't like it. I'll take it out - soon.
- USB Breezer (arctic breeze): It was hot however this tiny thing didn't make a difference. Shade and water was all the way to go
- two bicycles (we thought we would go more often with the Thule... see above). We could have managed it with only one (to cycle to the facilities and back)
We were happy to have:
- Thule Sun blocker (but: IMO it is to wide when you use the peggy peg. I guess i try the Thule thing...) and an awning (we were discussing about a drive away one and maybe next time when we intend to stay longer on one site we go for one.
- fridge. Just a fridge: Worked.
- Cadac Safari Chief (1). Although we sometimes find it hard to crawl on our knees to check the flame (we better bought on of these small extra tables). We had a spare 907 gas bottle and that was great
- Foldable kettle (from Outwell I think)
- Brandrup Isolate thing for the front window
- Reimo Airvent
- Nesspresso Essenza mini (for her after a hard night and to start every other day)
Next list is on it's way...
