How to clean/replace the GC Skylight Fly screen?

Iv noticed the Roof Skylight fly screen has began collecting some dust etc. Iv googled a little but most suggest to wash with water. Not sure how to do that without making a huge mess.
Has anyone cleaned the fly screen or perhaps replaced one yet?
