From memory, that was one bit that took me a while - it wasn't clear from the instructions whether the bars were 'sided' for left and right. Once laid next to each other it was clear they were, but it still took some work to figure out which side was which.
As has previously been noted in other threads, I suspect the whole thing would be a lot easier if you could jack it up (or ideally get it on a ramp) and have a decent tool for trimming the under tray. We don't have a garage, or access to a lift during lockdown, and I only have the rather spindly VW emergency jack, so quite a lot of my faff was simply due to lying on the drive with little room for access.
