I’ve had enough of main dealers

I have a full service history in a file. All service receipts.
Just not a FVWSH one. My vehicle is older but I doubt it will affect resale price. It’s all from one garage that specialises in VAG cars.

Surely taking your vehicle to a VW dealer that increasingly seem capable of damaging the vehicle so that some future owner may pay you more for it is a bit odd.

Taking it to the main dealer for the “First” service is not really an option. You just have to grin and bare it. If you don’t take it to the main dealer and something goes wrong then they can make life very difficult for you when it comes to warranty claims no matter what the
law says.

See my earlier post above about the warranties. Why anyone would get an extended one after reading the stuff on here is beyond me. They have one obvious fatal weakness.

Just the appalling roof fixes posts are enough for anyone to question whether taking it to them is going to make the problem better or worse.

There’s dozens of posts about people looking into recourse to legal claims. Great vehicle, terrible garages. We’re on our own. Never go back.

I gave up using my VW Commercial dealer after they took a month to diagnose failure of the tandem pump on a six year old 2.5 TDi. They told me they "were not used to dealing with older engines". Mysteriously the pump failed again about 14 moths later and was sorted in a day by a Bosch injection specialist who diagnosed water in the fuel . The dealer refused to take any responsibility for the second failure. I would buy another but I cant face the inevitable hassle with the dealer network.
