Improving headlights

Anyone used this relay kit on their vehicle to improve headlights?

I've used a similar loom on my Land Rover Defender in conjunction with Phillips Extreme bulbs to good effect. Very easy to fit. The idea is that using larger wires etc you use the present lighting circuit to just switch the relays that carry the current so that you get 12v + at the bulb terminals rather than the more usual 11v, giving a greater light output and protecting the lighting circuit and switch, which on the Defender is liable to overheating and fail to keep the contacts closed thus losing headlights.
