Interior Motion Sensor Trigger

Hi does anyone know if the Interior Motion sensor feels or sees the movement? We have a T5 SE. Been trying to set it off to test if we have deactivated it properly but can’t seem to trigger it at all. We have the B pillar button that does turn amber when switched.

Get in the van and lock the doors using the key fob. When you move the alarm should trigger.
I think it’s movement that sets it off.
If we go off for the day, leaving the van with the roof up, I routinely turn it off as a couple of times wind buffeting the van set it off, much to others annoyance.
