Key got wet now won’t work - any advice?

My other half took our key for a dip in the Mediterranean in his pocket! We didn’t have a spare key with us. Luckily somebody was flying out and was able to bring our spare key out . After 3 days in a bowl of rice ( and it was ridiculously hot so I think that helped dry it out too ) it started working again !

It might be worth taking the cover off and removing the battery before putting it in a mug filled with rice for a couple of days Before you discard it. The rice will draw out the moisture. I have used this method for keys, mobile phones and many other gadgets and it usually does the trick. Salt water is less certain however. I use pudding rice because it’s usually less dusty. Good luck.

With or without jam?

Great news. Glad it worked!

Two words.
Cling Film.

I wrap mine in a bit of cling film and into the Aquapac it goes.
So far so good.

A small sandwich bag tied in a knot also works as a back up before putting it in the waterproof pouch.
