Our left kitchen lid (for the hobs) is rattling as we drive along. When a passenger applies light pressure to hold it down, the rattle stops - it’s not the table (always my first thought!)

Does anyone else have this problem?

You sure it’s not the cupboard handle, mine rattles and if I leave it slightly open, it stops

Yes, pretty sure, because when a hand is placed on the glass to weight it slightly, the rattle stops.

The rattle also stops for a few seconds when I find some flat road to drive on. Unfortunately, there’s not much of that left in this pothole of a country! :)

Check the hob pan supports are pushed fully down - they pullout and can cause a rattle if not seated properly.

Yes, I’ve got exactly the same problem. I can’t see exactly what’s causing it, it appears the catch has some play in it. I’ve solved it temporarily by putting a couple of paper napkins under the lid.

I use 6 bumpons, two for each lid. I have made a schematic to help (I hope). The Bumpons are located underneath the lids to avoid getting in the way when cooking etc. Adhesive side up to the underside of the lids.. Hope this helps.

On our previous Cali we had the same issue - rattling hob glass cover. I used a hole punch to punch out 2 tiny round pieces of Velcro (soft side) and stuck these onto the rubber bumpons on the hob cover - cured the rattle permanently.

Until the sink cover started rattling that is, so I did the same there

Many thanks, I always wondered what they are called. I do have one bumpon at each end of the lid. Should there be one or two in the centre perhaps?
Two Bumpons for each glass lid should be sufficient. I have no glass lid rattles having done this little tweak.

Thanks for going to the trouble of the diagram. Above and beyond!
And thanks to all. Very reassuring that others have been here.
I’ll look to add a couple of bumpons and then add additional felt / soft Velcro if necessary and report back :thumb

Hi
I have a rattle from that area, turns out if the fold away table that slides along by the fridge, isn't put way properly it rattles, if someone sits against it when you're driving it can stop,

Since I got my Cali Ocean 2022 6 months ago I have been busy working out all the rattles and how to deal with them.
I purchased two of those de-mister sponges that are covered in chammy leather and pushed them into the pot stands that make a noise over every pothole. I put a micro fibre cloth between the lid and the cabinet, just enough to keep the catch tight. Also check metal Piezo ignition cable under the hobs that can vibrate against the hob. I have gone round with thin felt tape sticking that to the edges of the sliding doors and that has silenced a lot of the rattles. In transit I slide a small rubber wedge between the doors to sop any further rattle.
Thinking I might put some felt strip on the metal edge of the glass lid and that would replace the need for the microfibre cloth but one would have to check if using the gas burners that it wouldn’t be effected by the heat, I think it would be far enough away for the heat not to be an issue.
Just for the info also put the thin felt tape around the overhead cupboard as that also made an irritating noise. The state of the roads in the UK doesn’t help, when diving on a half decent motor way or road the van is now virtually free of all rattles after the measure I have taken.

A strip of thin fabric electrical loom tape along the underside the front lip worked for me.

@Discojoe you aren’t stowing it properly, you need to push the lever and push towards the bottom of table, there is a catch at the bottom, shine a torch in and you’ll see it

Agreed except that I don’t think you need to push the lever at all when stowing the table - only when getting it out ( as per #19 above).

We've had this since new. Paper napkin or wet wipe sorts it! No problem

Same, noticed it driving home from the dealership, microfibre drying cloth underneath the lid, wedged in stops it

Picked up another really loud annoying rattle from the dash this weekend, plastic on plastic at the front pillar

Easy to fix with a bit of tape but for an £80k van, VW should really do better
