I have a sad tale to tell. Ordered a 4-motion with diff lock in Mojave Beige 3rd week in March. I decided on the style pack- I know its not everyone's cuppa but we felt, having seen one, it matched the colour really well and particularly liked the front and back Aluminium skid pans - personal choice. At the time it was still on the config but a week later or so that and sports pack came off. Anyway, heard nothing and called into dealer from time to time....and they said everything fine. Having read these threads I decided to push harder for an up-date. However, today my dealer told me that VW had been in touch two days ago - no style pack (OK, annoying but can live with this) can't do Mojave Beige (kinda OK but now two lemons) and order has been cancelled....I have been told that's it gone. Apparently VW emailed my dealer to say 'we can't build this - can you let us know in the next 15 mins what the customer wants us to do'....and of course they didn't see the email until 'later'. How utterly ridiculous. So our dream has been shattered....two years planning and many more years saving....even purchased a ridge monkey pan!!!!....and planned our holiday to Shetland in August.... I've been told that production has stopped....this can't be true but we do know that new orders stopped a while back. I wonder if anyone else has /is experiencing a cancelled order. I need to compose myself and consider my next steps.
That’s shocking and pretty disgusting behaviour from VW Factory

I know for a fact that some Dealers have stock sitting awaiting to be bought. Try CityGate Wooburn Green.

let us know how you get on

Can’t believe it … ordered in March … Wk19 build slot so first week of May…2 week build and guess what…I was schocked …it’s at the dealer and could collect this coming week if I wanted to…that’s 3 weeks to build in factory and collect from dealer. Very Usual but at every stage it could have waited in a queue …those wheels kept rolling …it even got itself on a ferry the same day it arrived at port as was in a convenient position to load..unbelievable…my current Cali took a year to arrive ..amazing !

Which dealer did you go with as a matter of interest?

It obviously jumped the que. The last I heard of ours, it had been at the port for over three weeks patiently waiting its turn to board a boat.
I think mine was at the port 3 hrs..the dealer told me sometimes when they have opportunities vans that have been there a while are all blocked in and they can take quick wins by driving it straight on just hours before it set sails..

I have 23rd week build too, no expected delivery date.

Hi.

Have you had any update on your build slot? It’s week 23 next week so our vans should be being built … if everything is ok.

Isn't week 23 starting today? I don't expect updates until van is ready for delivery.

Mine was week 21 (for build) and I've just had an email from the dealer to say it arrived in the UK today.

He said it would be 10 days until it's with them and then he'll arrange a handover.

Starting to get excited.

Yes. Week 23 starts today. Sounds like they are on a roll at the moment

Mine was built wk 19 and it only took 18 days from being a sheet of roll steel to sitting in the back yard of the dealer in uk to be collected last week of May. we are so shocked and unprepared we can’t collect until July due to commitments … took 12 months last time !

This was the same for me; wk 21 build and just yesterday had the update that it's arrived in the UK... which dealer is yours via out of interest?

I'm a first time cali owner, so am getting very excited now...
(Naturally somewhat apprehensive re. the bellows, am following that thread with interest!)

Huge shout out to all on this forum for the incredible insight throughout the dreaming/contemplation/researching/planning/purchasing process - it's been such a valuable resource and i'm thrilled to be joining the fantastic cali community!

Hi, it's Breeze, Poole.

First time cali owners too and super excited. Can't wait for the handover.

Had video message from Jamie in Poole on 25th April that it‘s scheduled for build week 20, mid to end July delivery, massage on 20th May it’s on production line so 8 weeks approx. Another yesterday saying it’s landed in the uk 14 days approx to pick up. Just 2 weeks from production line to being shipped into the UK, Ahhhhh so much to do before then!!! Essentially 4 /5 weeks from production line to collection.

I’m also with Breeze, Poole … although not had much communication from them.

Also a first time Cali / Campervan owner.

Also thinking with a week 23 build it should be ready to collect end June / early July.

I’m now thinking about insurance and where to go for that - anyone had a good rate quoted? And what do I do if I need a tracker fitted? Get the quote first then fit the tracker later?

Also very excited.

Mine is also coming via Breeze, Poole.

Indeed quite a lot to now try and get sorted before collection - i'm currently doing the rounds on insurance options as the priority, quotes both with and without tracker fitted. Very much open to input / experience here, and will be happy to share any recommendations / decent options i find.

Out of interest - are any other new owners here considering the ceramic coating, either factory applied or via third party?

Mine was 18 days - its at Breeze now waiting for me to collect but Im just so busy dont have a free moment until early July so booked handover for then .

I did some insurance quotes before confirming order, to see how much it's going to cost. I read all latest insurance threads, to check available options I can't use LV, so best for me seems to be Comfort. The other specialist (forgot the name), which is cheaper, doesn't allow leaving Cali unattended, so not for me. Also, I need commuting.

In my preparation, the biggest issue is parking. I have to offload one vehicle somewhere or try to squeeze 2 on my driveway and swap them around, plus third one in the garage. I was going to put notes in mailboxes of nearby flats to see if anyone want to let out parking space for one of my cars and Cali would stay on a driveway.

I'm also actively looking for boot slide out drawer and window bag promotions and sale ads.

I did not expect to see Cali this side of summer, so quick deliveries are nice surprise.

Why can't you use LV? Always been cheapest for me, mind you I don't commute. You can leave it unattended.

Had email today, it’s arrived at Breeze!!! 14 days from build . I’m on Jury service for 2 weeks next week so struggling to get down there (I’m south Wales).

I'm doing the rounds of getting insurance quotes and finding that because the list price before any discount is above £75 K, they all require a tracker being fitted.
.I've found one advantage with Comfort is that you get the possibility of a replacement new vehicle for three years, but presumably that will be the same for any company using Aviva as their underwriter.

With Comfort, you have to have a tracker appointment within 14 days before you can take out a policy. (If list is over 75k) Obviously you can get a quote.
S7 tracker cost me £189. Subscription is £12pm I think.

Because their T&C eliminate me, even though it's nothing to with me, but someone living at my address.

I checked insurance, Comfort is the one that doesn't allow unattended van, so I think, I will go with Safeguard. It's more expensive, but not bad. Admiral could be the option, but I like unlimited travel period with Safeguard.

The unattended rule is overcome with a phone call. I’ve never been turned down.
