I have water dripping down the passenger side windscreen column and across the top of windscreen .There is discolouring on the roof lining on that side. Has anyone had this problem. The windscreen was checked and seems OK I think it is somewhere on the roof. It is not acceptable in a van only four years old and just 25000 k on the clock. Would this problem be covered by vw . Thanks for any advice .Joe murphy

Is it a leak or condensation? Crafter/MAN vans will drip water down the windscreen pillars when condensation forms above the cab lining. Seen it on a few vans.

Yes, I had this "big" problem: after it had rained, every time, the water flowed from both sides (right and left) from the sunshades directly into the cup-holders of the dashboard.

I don't know if you'd like to know how Volkswagen solved the problem...

Okay, I'll tell you the same: They took off and then "detached" the fiberglass roof of my GC600 and redid all the gasket that keeps it glued to the crafter's body. Fortunately, the intervention has passed under warranty.

They discovered the problem by spraying water on the rubber gasket that glues the fiberglass roof, there were more places where the gasket, installed in the factory in Poland, had not adhered well.

Now the problem is no longer there but the gasket, which is a kind of hand-laid black silicone, is not as perfect and elegant as the one that was previously made by the factory.

The side effects are important: they have to disassemble the entire interior that is from 2mt up and then reattach it.. They didn't do a great job there...

Best wishes...

Hi Joe,

Unfortunately, this is a common issue.

I am waiting for an appointment for a seal replacement at the Volkswagen dealer in Galway under warranty.

For the past few months, I haven't experienced any leakage thanks to some strong tape, as shown in the pictures.

There is a very fine detachment between the silicone and the plastic top.

If the warranty expires, You could try to clean the gap thoroughly, apply some primer to help the silicone adhere, and then fill the gap with silicone using a small syringe.

Try contacting your local dealer first. They might be able to get Volkswagen to cover the cost of the job even if it's out of warranty, as this is a well-known manufacturing fault.
