After a drive of a couple of hours I noticed water dripping from the direction of the rear of the sump cover. It was clear and cold.
Any ideas?

That would normally be drips from the air con I'd say - although I'm not sure where the drain would be on a Cali. Did you have the aircon running?

Could it be condensation from the aircon :?: did you have it on :?:

Sorry I was 2 seconds late with my reply :headwall

Great minds..

Yes the air on had been all of the time.

Could this be the same issue? I was driving for a couple of hours, first timer on the Autobahn so between 130-145 km/h, full blast aircon for a few minutes and then just on number 1 (simple system, no climatronic).

I noticed clear water dripping when we stopped, under the passenger seat. Then when I drove off the orange warning light came on, advising me to search for a garage…

I’m in Berlin right now, not really keen for a visit to a foreign dealer. Car drove the rest of the trip (+300 km) just fine.

If it’s condensation then the warning light should be activated by something else I presume?

Some condensation dripping is normal, but your warning light needs attention I fear. Can you call VW assist? That would remove the need to go looking for a garage initially.

Dripping stopped, warning light disappeared. I’m gonna sit this one out.
