Looking to upgrade to b14 komforts, wounding if there is any of you good folks with them in the dorset hants area im in christchurch who wouldn't mind taking me for a quick run to see the difference, happy to pay for fuel and a drink!

At the risk of starting a punch up here, I can’t see how B14s are any different to stock.

Nowhere on the Bilstein website does it describe or explain why they are any different to standard.
I’d be looking for a specific description of how the damping is altered/different to standard OEM fit.
Nothing.

The only damper I can find that specifically details a different damping valving is the Koni FSD.

I suspect the difference people feel after fitting B14s is a mix of new versus old and placebo.
That has certainly been my experience in the past.

Lots of threads on this, thats why i want to trysome!
Hopping for better damping over bumps and being adjustable for ride height!

I'm on B14 Komforts but I'm Southampton based. If you're over this way give me a shout. But my Cali will be different as its on poly bushes / 18in rubber

I think with the B14s it depends on how you set them up. I'm circa 390-395 at the rear so circa a 50mm drop.

I went with the VW lowering springs originally but they were so bad. I advertised it as a shocking ride for any van looking to convert and sold the springs for £65 after surviving 8k bone crunching miles.

Ride height makes no difference to damping rates. Dampers are linear.

Tyres have a huge impact on ride comfort. I run std suspension.
I have a summer set and winter set of wheels & tyres , both 17" rims (identical) the summer set are 255 x 55 , the winter set 215 x 60 the operating pressures are vastly different (20 psi higher on winter set) and have a major impact on comfort. The winters are soooooo much harder & crashy it feels like suspension is the issue, it's not, it the tyres. Summer set are far lower pressure and they are soooo much more comfortable.

Thanks for the offer, yes im on vw 30mm springs and 18” wheels will pm you, dont want to put you out, did you replace them yourself or who did you have do the job?

I had Bognor do the work back in 2020 I could have done the work but I just hate working on my VW.....

Have some replacement coils to go on the rear. Just starting to rust and picked up on the MOT (not last year) but raised by VW under the recent health check.
