Mattress topper dimensions

Hello, I'm sorry if I've overlooked a recent answer to this question but my mind is bobbling a bit. We recently picked up our 2013 Cali (I actually had a Cali in 2013 too!) The upstairs bed was without a mattress but we were happy that we'd get one in time. In anticipation of a quick night or two away, I bought a 2 inch thick Comfortz topper for the downstairs bed. We collected the van and were surprised to see an original topper in the back, so we now have 2 toppers for downstairs and no mattress for upstairs. Could we use one of the toppers in the roof bed? Will the roof close okay even though it's not the exact dimensions?

I presume your Topper is narrower. If so, and it is less than 4 cm in thickness then shouldn't be a problem on its own with No VW mattress.

Thanks for the reply, the website says the new topper is 2 inches/5cm. Would it be risky trying to close the roof with an extra 1cm on the mattress depth?

If the topper is narrower than the roof bed , so a space around the long sides, it will probably be OK as the height of the roof space is lowest on the R & L sides and higher in the centre.
I've had the original mattress, a wedding dress, the bridegrooms suit, my suit and my wife's dress up there , on return from my sons wedding in Florence and the roof closed perfectly.
Also the topper will compress.
You'll only now if you try it. I'm pretty sure it will be OK.
