Well and another fault this week have a very noisy N75 valve so now added the the long list of things getting upset just in time for it's 10th birthday.

You may not have to change the valve. Frequently it’s the vacuum tubes that have failed.
You can purchase the updated/upgraded replacement tubes from VW.
 
i removed mine to get the part number put it back ordered a new one and it hasn't done it since this was about 6 months ago

have ordered a valve, not expensive so will have that to hand then also check the pipes when It's all apart.
 
What happens at what mileage?
Mine's also 10 years old. 145000km (90000mi).
 
well it moos if you blow in the value (don't ask) replaced today so will see if it is better now
