My head is spinning...

I'm also in the market for a Cali. After months of searching I have found a T5.1 SE 2010 180bhp manual with one owner, FVWSH, 3 cambelt changes and 120K and it looks clean albeit in need of some internal scrubbing to clean a few plastic areas. It's on at £25K with a dealer which seems a good price - dealer normally specialises in ones twice the price but this was taken as a trade in. Only things wrong are slight wear to drivers seat fabric, no steering wheel controls for stereo/bluetooth.DAB but I could live without at that price. I would have preferred a 140bhp for better economy - I'm used to driving slowly as my other car is a 44yr old Citroen 2cv!

You'll find lots on hear related to the 180 engine eating itself and needing a £10k+ replacement. You'll also find lots of posts defending it - so there is no need to rehash the arguments but you as a buyer need to familiarise yourself with the debate and make your own informed mind up. Use terms like 'excessive oil consumption 180' .

Post the registration number - the previous owner might be a forum member and be able to give some insight.

GK10YHO in red. No disrespect meant to previous owners about the internal plastics I suspect age related dirt/sun fade. When I viewed it was as it had been taken in so not cleaned yet (but far tidier than my car!). It has been clearly looked after and cherished for a 15yr old vehicle!

One owner would be a very big plus for me.

Going to look at the red one again this afternoon. Now it's not frozen up will have the chance to try the roof mechanism - the doors were frozen last time so I didn't feel it would be fair to the motor to try the roof. It looks clean under the bonnet and I have been informed that the EGR was changed in 2018 at 74K. It's now on 118K. Apart from checking all electrical systems what other points should I look for? It has full VWSH and 3 cambelts in history. I will look for other details in SH like shocks suspension bushes, tyres, brakes and clutch - all the usual consumables. Will also check for rust along the roof leading edge. Have I missed anything?
