New mattress for GC680. No more sleeping in the gap!

Great job, I formally complained to VW CC waited 3 months for a response then they said they were not prepared to do anything. They however sent a replacement centre mattress but of course it was the same as the existing as the pattern has not been changed.
I feel it’s unacceptable we have paid a fair bit on these vans and the mattress is not fit for purpose.
I’m not prepared to stop at this.
I like the existing mattress set up as it’s light and easy to get to the boot/ garage area, it just needs the centre mattress to be 2” wider.
So if people aren’t happy complain.

This looks great! We have had our GC 680 a few weeks now and like you, we have been really disappointed with the mattress. I have just sent Custom mattress a template. Could you please let me know what type of the mattress you went for and the thickness. As we hoping to order one that is much softer than the original one.

I have been thinking of a new mattress too. The topper has compacted. It’s fine and much better than the T5 roof but a nice mattress would be great. I want rid of the cutout. The duvet falls down it and I’m happy enough to hop onto bed to reach cupboards.
Did you need to send a template or did you just give the dimensions? Assuming if no cut out they just need basic LxW plus depth.
Also can’t decide between memory foam and pocket springs. I sometimes find the memory foam mattresses gets hot .

Hi Fiona. Apologies for late reply. We ordered on of their harder mattresses depth 10cm

It’s about time VW acknowledged that there is an issue with with the mattress ie in size, gaps between the individual matresses and the depth, slightly thicker.

The existing one is great for easy access to the garage/boot area which is important, it just requires slight improvement.

The more owners that raise this as a problem the more of a chance that VW will address this, Why are we paying to put it right?
