This is the wrap I have done. Half under body Wrap and a bonnet PPF. From the experience of owning Cali for 7 years, because of the high angled bonnet it has, a Bonnet PPF is a must.

Looks amazing.

I picked up my Mojave Beige 204, 4 motion on Monday and was considering PPF for the front end (£1,000, not just bonnet), as I won’t be wrapping the bottom half, but was told that it would be cheaper to re spray the front end (£550) before selling the vehicle, but would have to live with any stone chips until then.

We joined the “Status 20” club today! Production due to start next week, with a delivery (assuming no unforeseen component shortages, factory shutdowns or plagues of locusts) by January. 150DSG Ocean, various options, green/white 2-tone, ordered 1st March.

Just received an update from the dealer. Unconfirmed build of week 14 so there is a chance of getting it before the end of June

The colour is Mossy Green CG23-S from Teckwrap which does not have a good reputation as 3M but the colour is just suit to Ascot grey.

Cracking end to the week - also a provisional build date, week 10 (March), from a June ‘21 order. Loving the half wrap, @studioTUNGSTEN, planning something similar (with a Candy White base). Novice question - the PPF is a protective cover to card against flying stones etc…?

Scheduled for build, which is one step further than Not scheduled for build ;-)

What does status 20 mean?

Build status codes:
10 = Factory ordered with production week scheduled.
20 = Factory ordered production week confirmed.
30 = In transit from factory.
36 = Vehicle in port of exit – not released
38 = Vehicle in port of exit – released to shipping
39 = Vehicle on ship
40 = Vehicle arrival at UK port
60 = Dispatched to Dealer
70 = Vehicle arrived at Dealer

Hi to all owners and future owners of Californias! My name is Daniel, I ordered a 4 motion Beach Camper on the 12 of October, dealer called me yesterday saying that it will be built in January and probably delivered to dealership on the week 12, and that there would be a high probability that the van would be in my hands in April. Im having a very hard time believing this seeing all the feedback in this forum. Mind you that im in Portugal, mainland Europe

Hi just got email from dealer. Our coast is still showing on vw system in ireland as 'Internal transfer' he said there are others showing up with same status. He thinks its cause they are waiting on semi conductors. Any one else come accross this? We have been told its gone through the paint shop etc and now waiting on assembly. But held up in internal transfer. We got this status 4 weeks ago also..

Your dealer's explanation is unlikely to be true once the build has started. VW wouldn't have triggered the build if they didn't have all the parts on hand.
The more likely explanation is that something went wrong during the build that caused your van to be sidelined, either a quality control issue or an accident on the assembly line.
Once that happens it can take several weeks for it to be processed.

Yes we’ve had that letter some time ago now. It’s looking likely we will now take delivery around the anniversary of ordering!

Well after learning i was at status 30 (van heading to port) and a week of tracing every darn ship there was going to grimsby my top salesman at the vw centre manchester sent me an email simply stating " jim you dont need to look for ship names anymore..... its in Grimsby......

like what an epic email is that to get ? ordered in january and finally finally my actual ocean 4 motion is in the uk waiting to be delivered to the dealer. The purpose of this email is to say bloody well hang in there all of you on this thread, it actually does come along and happen for real. now how painful is this last 10 days or so going to be? Im guessing agony lol but each day now is like ticking off the advent calendar to the best xmas present ever

Just rang my own dealer there for an update as had a week 3 of 2022 build week.
He informed me that it has been brought forward to week 48 and said its 'locked in' for next week. Hopefully that won't slip. That was a nice surprise before lunch.
