New T6.1 order delays

Does having a pdf of an A4 sheet titled 'Vehicle Detail', including an order number, an 'Acce. date' and the options etc mean the order has been accepted?
have you got a build date yet Tim?

I spoke to Eurovans on Friday 12 February. They had just received the ‘new list’ which included mine as an April build. So probably delivered in May. This new list is a commitment from the factory they said. Fingers crossed.

Can only concur with the recent advice (Thanks @Tomdbreeze ) to ignore the provisional build weeks that are being offered out by the online chat operators. After resisting the urge for 4 weeks, I initiated a web chat this morning, to be told that that our Coast order from November was now week 20 (May 17th). Although this had been pulled forward 3 weeks from my mid Jan chat, I was really hoping for some slightly better news. So I pinged an email to the dealer to ask for an update, mentioning "the list". They replied promptly saying that it would be built in April, which sounds far more promising. Not really sure of the value of the web chat operators at the moment. Doesn't sound too difficult to give those guys "the list" too and let them sing from the same hymn sheet as the dealerships. It would avoid a lot of the frustrations.

Great news Stu@rt!

I finally got a meaningful update from my dealer confirming our Ocean 204 (ordered early Dec) is approx 280 in line for build and it will be ready for delivery in July. I can live with that and it gives me a little time to sell my BMW.
Yep, we ordered 204 in Dec and dealer said should be with us in July

Fantastic news. I bet its starting to feel real now??
Excited for you let the kit buying begin!!...I have started with mine and it’s not programmed to be built instil week 9 ...lol

Yes it is, we've just finished having our very narrow and awkward driveway widened so it will fit! they were delayed doing it, on one hand I was starting to panic that we'd have to park it on the road and on the other I was panicking that the van was never going to come out of build. I sometimes wish I'd never discovered VW chat ...

Don't worry about it, buying kit is a great lockdown activity which I've mostly done already :) my other justification was spring's coming and everyone will be buying kit and it will all sell out ..but I've really no idea if that happens..

Germany impose boarder restrictions on the boarders that are holding up spares for the German automotive industry.... further delays inbound

Just been given build week 15 unconfirmed from the dealer, Ordered Middle of January. They've said June delivery all along so I guess that roughly fits

i ordered the cali ocean and my build date of week 19 was taken off yesterday as was lots of peoples so they have to now get dealers to re register them, all up in the air at the moment but hey look we have a pandemic going on, but at the same time VW should let their dealers know whats going on as it creates mistrust in the brand if everyone is messed around all the time, why dont they just say sorry we have tons of orders and less people to make them , not good news but at leats you know where you are instead of smoke and mirrors

Did your dealer mention ‘the new list’ which was released late last week. It apparently puts California’s in date-ordered order, with a build MONTH that is a factory commitment. I ordered 8 October and on Friday got a build month of April, so hoping for a May delivery.

Got info from the german caliboard forum that the recent delays may depend on the closing of the Limmer factory outside Hannover. This factory builds the kitchen module for Ocean and Coast and have had a serious Covid outbreak. Beach seems not affected.
I had unconfirmed build week 17 before the weekend but is now back on none, status 4.

My LHD Coast 199/204 4Mo Edition Pack, tow bar, 4 keys, parking heater, Panoramic bellows, F/R sensors and camera, wood effect floor, AGM battery, Std CC and folding mirrors was ordered mid Nov and was told earliest delivery date was Sept 2021. Thats looking more and more likely given engine and supplier issues and the huge backlog of orders placed earlier than mine.

So it does appear that all 204 orders placed around this time are getting week 10 confirmed. Mine's exactly the same, confirmed on Monday.
I ordered my 199/204 ..4motion 17 August and got a confirmed week 9 build a couple of weeks ago, rechecked Tuesday with VW chat and was told week 9 is still the build date so fingers crossed they have the parts in store already, but who knows !!!

My dealer contacted me this week to say VW had informed them that my Ocean 150 is due to be built in the month of May. I ordered on the 3rd Nov. In terms of build order, apparently I’m 161 out of more than 600. All in all, I’m pretty happy about this - providing it sticks :)

I’ve got a 150 Ocean ordered end of January and have been given a build month of June. I’m hopeful that stays roughly the same? The 150’s don’t seem to take as long?

Status 20 = The Holy Grail in this mentally arduous process of obtaining the RDE2 204ps. 10 days till that build, rightly so with an order date in August. In total probably 8 months from order to sitting in the van. I’m sure everyone is looking forward to pictures of these machines with their owners. Reassure the rest of us!

Pictures will be forthcoming WHEN it arrives.....there are some benefits with the delay although not to be broadcast.... You get a new Cali on the new registration, with a new more efficient and cleaner engine (yet to be confirmed) at a time when lockdown should be coming to an end (yet to be confirmed) allowing you to use it and one other big point you get it at the price you agreed last August..... nearly a win win win....or have I missed something. Roll on summer!!
